Offering spectacular views over Lake Malawi, the Sunbird Nkopola is on the southern shore near the friendly fishing village of Nkopola, 28 km north of Mangochi. The property has 55 air conditioned rooms comprising 16 superiors, 20 standard rooms, three family rooms and 16 rondavels (chalets). All rooms are en-suite with satellite TV, bathroom and 220 volt power points. There is also a campsite as well as eight self-contained chalets. Conference facilities include two rooms for of meetings, seminars, workshops and product launches. Other facilities include room service, laundry, volleyball courts, business centre, babysitting service, gift shop and free open car parking.

Sun ‘n’ Sand Holiday Resort is located on 700 metres of golden sandy beach on the shores of Lake Malawi. The resort offers a variety of rooms, including 13 VIP rooms, 101 superior rooms and 11 self-catering family chalets as well as a campsite with 25 spacious two-person tents under a thatched roof The resort has one of the best conference facilities in Malawi, able to accommodate groups of all sizes, from a small meeting to a major conference with breakaway events. The resort has a main restaurant and two bars. Activities include boating, speedboats, water-skiing, massages, excursions, snorkelling and parasailing.

The main focus is a large thatched bar, restaurant and lounge. There are five beach huts, four rooms with toilet and shower and a dormitory with six beds. There is space for 80 tents and a separate toilet and shower block.

Flame Tree Lodge is a privately run lodge situated on a shady, grassy area with Lake Malawi on two sides. Flame Tree is in Chintheche, about 2 km south of the boma. It has beautiful white sandy beaches, shaded grass camping, mains electricity and hot showers. Accommodation is in six double en-suite chalets and a seventh family chalet. A recently completed two-bedroomed self-contained house sleeps six adults. Facilities include a fully stocked bar and restaurant. Flame Tree is a quiet family-friendly lodge.

The property is visited mostly by overland trucks and backpackers and is the first stop in Malawi heading south or the last heading north.
Ilala Crest Lodge is located about 150 metres after St John’s Hospital and offers excellent accommodation in Mzuzu. All 13 rooms are self-contained, carpeted or tiled and have five-channel cable TV.
