Los Angeles Modern Auctions (LAMA) announces Part Two of the 20th Anniversary Auction, which is scheduled for Sunday, December 16, 2012, 12 p.m. (PST).
This expertly curated auction of just over 350 lots features a rare Chess Table by Isamu Noguchi complete with sculpted aluminum tray and original finish; over ten works by Robert Rauschenberg, including Lattice (Hoarfrost), a unique textile collage from 1975; an Alexander Calder brooch and a Jean Arp brooch, each with outstanding provenance; in addition to a group of 14 American Arts & Crafts designs, a great majority of which were gifts from Max Palevsky, to be sold by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) to benefit future acquisitions. The sale also features a comprehensive grouping of over 50 lots of Art Deco furniture, lighting, and decorative objects from c. 1920 – 1940.
