SELECTED WORKS 2021-2024 PORTFOLIO LAMIA SALEEM ARCHITECTURE

I enjoy the complexity and creativity that goes into a design, the way they are put together, like solving a puzzle, finally becoming a part of a functional whole.

This portfolio features selected works from my academic works, live projects and some of my extracurricular illustrations.

DESIGN EVOLUTION

The architectural concept evolves through stages, initially with a single open-plan block. A garden terraced block is added, blending nature seamlessly into the design. Next, a second block introduces a sloped terraced garden, later divided into sections with a skylight and a stepped roof garden. These sections are connected by a staircase, leading to an upper open terrace, offering panoramic views and completing the fusion of modern architecture with natural elements.

INTERIORS

The residence epitomizes modernity within its interiors, seamlessly blending with nature to create a captivating living space. With sleek lines, minimalist design elements, and contemporary furnishings, it exudes sophistication and style.

Nature is ingeniously integrated into the design, enhancing the ambiance with greenery and natural light. Stepped planters grace the stairways, accentuating the modern aesthetic while connecting different levels of the house. This elegance stands out amidst the conventional architecture of the neighborhood, offering a refreshing and elegant retreat for its inhabitants.

As a member of the NextGen Keepers team, I focused on thermal comfort and engineering operations for our project in the Solar Decathlon India 2023-2024 competition.

Our goal was to improve housing conditions for construction workers in Montana Estates, Kozhikode, Kerala, India. We designed a cohesive worker housing unit which contributed to sustainable design practices, achieving an Energy Performance Index (EPI) of 35% through strategies like natural ventilation and energy-efficient fixtures.
