Born and raised in North Carolina, Prettiboiroq is a queer hip-hop artist whose musical journey began in a home filled with music. Both of his parents were musically inclined, yet his upbringing was marked by challenges. With his mother absent for most of his life due to addiction and a father whose religious beliefs shaped their early musical exposure, Prettiboiroq found means to escape within the church’s hymns and gospel tunes. However, breaking away from those confines to embrace a secular, queer-identifying sound was a transformative journey.

Since moving to Los Angeles 11 years ago, Prettiboiroq has carved out a unique space in the music world, releasing two acclaimed EPs and now working on their highly anticipated debut full-length LP, set to release in June. Their dynamic performances have taken them across the country, including unforgettable appearances at the Pride Tours in 2018 and 2019. Currently, they are gearing up for an exciting tour collaboration with Puerto Rican pop star Marque, titled “On Que,” promising a unique fusion of creativity and an unforgettable live experience.
