ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Thao Mai is a professional graphic designer and digital illustrator in the field of fashion who completed her master’s degree in fashion design at Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan with an excellent academic achievement (110/110). In 2016, she interned in Haute Couture houses in Paris. In 2019, she began to freelance for private clients, following which she founded her own label LaMaith in Melbourne in 2020. In addition to her creativity, Thao is also a digital illustrator who regularly brings a whimsical perspective through her artworks. She also creatively directs all of LaMaith advertising.

1 CONTEMPORARY Maith in Irish means “good thing”. Our mission is to honour human beauty and contribute positive changes to the fashion industry. The designer finds inspiration from many angles of life to LaMaith’s exclusive designs and in her way merged the good old things and present to keep the rich of the brand. Being inspired by Surrealism (Réne Magritte) and contemporary artists such as Enrico Benetta, Ai Weiwei,... however, our works express the view of today matters.

2 DESIGN YOUR STORY Through LaMaith’s perspective, the brand’s values ​​ will be conveyed to our customers in a way absolutely aesthetic. We appreciate the time listening to our customers’ wishes, thereby create the most distinctive products capturing their identity.

REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE We are committed to reducing our waste and regenerated DOWHUQDWLYHV ZKHQHYHU SRVVLEOH *LYLQJ D QHZ FKDSWHU WR upcycling deadstock and fabric scraps, why not? Seriously conscious about the overusing of packaging, we are constantly using recyclable or reusable paper bags.

SOURCE RESPONSIBLY Our organic cotton blank tees are produced by PDQXIDFWXUHUV ZKRVH HQWLUH SURGXFWLRQ SURFHVV LV controlled and certified under the latest version of GOTS.

ETHICAL MADE CLOTHING We confidently reveal to our customers material origin: certified organic cotton, fair trade, occupational health and safety without using child labour.


TRANSPARENCY COMMUNITY As a small and independent business, LaMaith is run by people, not by algorithms. Small business owners have been hit especially hard in these two years during Covid-19. Many have been forced to close their doors. And so we support other Australian small businesses by outsourcing their services and supply. To us, every customer matters. We will continue to give back to our Vietnamese community and create positive change by increasing our people consciousness about sustainability via talk shows, social media content, etc...

PRODUCTION Our T-shirt is made from 100% organic cotton, soft, lightweight, sweat-absorbent, free of herbicides and pesticides,T-shirts are certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). As the spirit of LaMaith, the printing technique is crucial. We produce graphic T-shirts and hoodies by our in-house dye sublimation printing. We also outsource local screen printing service direct to garment (DTG) printing service in Victoria and NSW.

ABOUT OUR T-SHIRTS

Our T-shirt is made from 100% organic cotton with 15% viscose fabric at the crew neck. Soft, lightweight, sweat-absorbent, free of herbicides and pesticides,T-shirts are certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). We use dye sublimation printing and outsource local screen printing service. With this, our customers are promised to have high quality products.

THE DESIGN PROCESS A PROJECT BRIEFING By having a 30-45 min free consultation call, we gather key information about your idea and preferences. Taking the time to create a thorough project brief helps bring every details together to better fulfill the project. RESEARCH AND ROUGH SKETCH After doing some research, it’s time to draw some rough idea. PRESENTATION AND REVISIONS We present to you all digital concepts with a short description. There are two rounds of revisions. Based on your feedback we will polish the designs and make necessary changes to ensure your satisfaction. SUPPLY OF FINAL PRODUCT After your project has been approved, all of your final assets will be delivered to you for ongoing use.
