ابتكرت سيريوس ميشين طرقا ناجحة لرفع مستوى الوعي وجمع التبرعات وااللتزام في هولندا إلنشاء برنامج ورش عمل موسيقي مستدام مع الالجئين السوريين والمجتمعات المستضيفة وعملت المجموعة دون.في األردن كما،الحصول على التمويل التقليدي نجحت في تنظيم أسابيع لتدريب الموسيقيين المحليين في األردن في وقت قصير من خالل إشراك مجموعة .كبيرة من مؤيديها في هولندا بعثة سيريوس هي مبادرة أسسها .الملحن الهولندي ميرالين توالفهوفن أصبحت وسيلة2013 ومنذ نيسان يتبعها الموسيقيين الرياديين والفنانين والمنظمين إلقامة أنشطة مع الالجئين .السوريين في األردن يقدم هذا العرض كجزء من «الجاز من أجل سورية» بالتعاون مع سيريوس .ميشين والموسيقى السورية حية
Syrious Mission developed successful ways to raise awareness, money and commitment in The Netherlands for a sustainable program of music workshops with Syrian refugees and the host communities in Jordan. The group worked without conventional funding and succeeded to organize training weeks for local musicians in Jordan on short notice by involving a large group of supporters in The Netherlands. Syrious Mission is an initiative, developed by the Dutch composer Merlijn Twaalfhoven. Since April 2013, it has become a method for entrepreneurial musicians, artists and organizers to set up activities with Syrian refugees in Jordan. This performance is presented as part of “Jazz for Syria” in collaboration with Syrious Mission and Syrian Music Lives.
تأسست فرقة «أندلسية» من قبل المايسترو عازف الجيتار المعروف الذي،خالد توفيق درس الموسيقى الكالسيكية والفالمنكو اسبانيا- في المعهد الفالمنكو في برشلونة وهو ملحن وموسيقي شارك في العديد. ألف.من الحفالت في جميع أنحاء العالم وأهداها إلى،مقطوعات موسيقية مميزة أستاذه الكبير مانويل غرانادوس. ، فقد ولدت في فلسطين،أما ليلى صباغ وحصلت على شهادة البكالوريوس في التربية . إسبانيا- الموسيقية من جامعة برشلونة وتغني بلغات عدة مثل،ليلى مغنية موهوبة .العربية واإلسبانية واإلنكليزية والبرتغالية حيث،وعاشت في إسبانيا لعدة سنوات اصحبت الموسيقى الالتينية اإلسبانية منذ ذلك الحين مصدر وحيها وإلهامها. وينضم الى الفرقة مواهب استثنائية من عازف وعازف،االيقاع والدرامز االردني ماهر حنحن الكونتراباص السوري باسم الجابر بتقنياته الرائعة. هذا العرض واحد من العروض االستثنائية يجمع بين الموسيقى الالتينية والعربية من التانغو الكوبي،واإلسبانية والبرتغالية والبوسا نوفا الى اإليقاعات العربية التقليدية رحلة بهيجة في...المغلفة بموسيقى الجاز موسيقى الجاز العالمية.
Andalusia was founded by Maestro Khaled Tawfiq, a well recognized guitarist who studied Classical and Flamenco music in the Flamenco Conservatory in Barcelona – Spain. He is a composer and a musician, participated various concerts worldwide. He has composed distinctive music pieces and has dedicated these compositions to his great teacher Manuel Granados. Laila Sabbagh, born in Palestine, and has obtained her BA in Music Education from the University of Barcelona – Spain. Laila is a talented singer who performs in many languages such as Arabic, Spanish, English and Protégés. Lived in Spain for several years and was inspired by Spanish and Latin music since then. Joined by the exceptional talents of the Jordanian Maher Hanhan on the drums, and the Syrian Basem Aljaber with his brilliant techniques on the contrabass. This one of a kind performance is a Latin Arabic Extravaganza of Spanish, Portuguese & Arabic music and rhythms, from Cuban Tango and Bossa Nova to traditional Arabic tunes rapped with Jazz. A joyful voyage into world jazz music.

Black Ice was founded by Baidoun Brothers: Hazem and Ma›an Baidoun, the first musicians who started the Jazz music scene in Jordan in 1982. The formation plays original and cover tunes of funk, Jazz, Latin and Jazz fusion. Many professional musicians joined the band for more than 30 years. Six years ago, the drummer Ali Fanni and the singer Katia joined the band and it has been called Black Ice since then.

Soriana translates into ‘Our Syria’. This adventurous program brings together eminent performers, composers, and improvisers from Syria and the Western World who create contemporary music, inspired by the rich cultural heritage of the Orient. Performing on Middle Eastern and Western instruments, they exemplify talent, achievement, and breadth of rising generation of cosmopolitan Arab musicians. Soriana celebrates the artists’ cultural heritage and pays homage the land that gave them the gift of musical knowledge, as it soothes wounds and inspires creation, envelopes in warmth and stability, feeding the imagination as well as the soul. The programme features various combinations of instrumental music performed by duos, trios, and quartets with guest artists. The Rembrandt Frerichs Trio combines influences from Oriental music and Classical Western music in their own Jazz language, creating a unique dynamic and versatile style, which appeals to a large audience. Their motto ‹One size fits nobody’ reflects their sense of individuality and originality. The international press as an adventurer recognizes Rembrandt on the piano and master of his instrument. The Trio’s latest release ‘A Long Story Short’ features Rembrandt’s unique compositional skill, which combines the melodic and harmonic approach of the West with the refined rhythmic approach of the Orient creating an exciting new form of Jazz. منذ تأسيس فرقة «فتت لعبت» السورية نوعت الفرقة بين موسيقى الجاز،2004 عام وبين الكردية،الكالسيكي والموسيقى الشرقية وبين الشرق أوروبية الى الهندية مرورا،واآلشورية ركزت الفرقة.بالموسيقى التركية واإليرانية على تطور االرتجال الفردي في موسيقى الجاز .بأسلوب احتفالي أقرب الى الجماهير أدت فرقة «فتت لعبت» عروضا عديدة في حيث كانت،العديد من قرى ومدن سورية تروج موسيقى الجاز االحتفالية ضمن ترتيبات كما عرضت الفرقة في كل.جاز كالسيكية . ألمانيا وسويسرا، لبنان،من األردن يقدم هذا األداء بالتعاون مع مشروع .»«الموسيقى السورية حية Since its creation in 2004, Fattet Le3bet started to fuse jazz with different sounds of Oriental music: from classical to popular Arabic songs, from Assyrian to Kurdish music, from Eastern Europe to India through Turkey and Iran. In its rearrangement of oriental pieces and jazz standards, Fattet Le3bet focuses on the development of oriental solo improvisation in jazz music in a rather festive format bringing jazz music closer to the audience. The band has presented more than a hundred concerts over the years in many cities and villages in Syria promoting fun oriental music with serious jazz arrangements, as they also played in Jordan, Lebanon, Germany, and Switzerland. Celebrating Europe Day in Jordan It was on the 9th of May 1950 when some countries in Europe set the first concrete foundation of a European Union as we know it today. Despite the different crisis known throughout these years, this milestone in European history set common fundamentals that assured the Europeans decades of stability, peace, and welfare.

Today we are 28 countries, members of the EU under one umbrella of unity and solidarity. The European Union is based on the respect of human rights, fundamental freedoms, rule of law, equality and democracy as it advocates, among others, shared prosperity, same market rules for all, freedom of movement, an increase in stability, regional integration, and a coherent voice and role in the world. But above all, the diverse European Union is based on cultural variety and dialogue. Inside our territory and outside our borders, together with our partners and neighbouring countries, we can cooperate to encourage cultural exchange to reach a better understanding between peoples and nations. Only by increased mutual knowledge and dialogue, we can work hand in hand for a better future. Cultural exchanges are therefore a strong tool for reaching and linking each other. On the 9th of May, Europe Day, we will enjoy a family fair at the Cultural Village of Al Hussein Park, which will start at 4 pm, with various activities for children and adults accompanied by a colourful performance of a street theatre from Poland. In the evening of the 9th of May, the Day will be celebrated this year through two jazz concerts of European and Arab artists. We appreciate the young talents in Jordan as we take pride in our joint events that allow for interesting fusion of artistic creations. A musical partnership since more than 8 years, German composer and Accordion player Manfred Leuchter joins Syrian composer and clarinettist Kinan Azmeh in a concert that features original compositions and improvisations, joined also at times by other special guests. The music itself is only described by the blending sounds of two wind instruments and the mind play of two individuals on stage. This partnership has appeared in many appearances in stages around the US, Europe and the MiddleEast, and resulted in the album «9 days of Solitude» which was released in 2007.»

Kamal Musallam is one of today’s most sought-after guitarists in the field of jazz-fusion, having achieved international acclaim for his innovative merging of jazz, rock, Latin, Indian and Asian musical traditions with Arabic sounds and rhythms, thus opening up a new genre of music. This project is showcasing how the sound of Oud and old Arabic rhythms can talk beautifully to Flamenco rhythms and dance especially the Bularias and Rumbas. It translates those connections within a modern concept performed by some of the best Arabic, Flamenco and Jazz musicians that Kamal is bringing together on stage with him. The performance also features a beautiful Flamenco dance appearance by a special guest, the talented Karen Lugo. This performance is funded by the European Union through the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC).

Yuichiro Tokuda is an emerging star in the Japanese music scene. After studying at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, he returned to Japan and released his first album, which was acclaimed as "the cutting edge of the present progressive form of jazz" in Jazz Life magazine. In 2008, Tokuda received an award as the "New Face of the Year in Art & Culture “from the Chiba-City Government, the first time ever for a jazz artist. Every year he performs in Japan's most prestigious jazz festival "Yokohama Jazz Promenade" and tours all over the world. In his 5 past albums, Yuichiro has created unique and new original sounds. His band “RALYZZDIG” has released a new album “Crossing Colors” in Mar 2013, and has tremendously succeeded in the world tour that followed in Canada, Malaysia, India and Japan.

“Shine” is a brand new project born from the collaboration of two unique artists. A Duo melting in an extraordinary bond; two different personalities, creating a sound which ranges from classical piano to electronics, from Northern European influences to Anglo Saxons contaminations, to Eastern ideas. Roberto Cherillo’s pure and sheer voice and Kekko Fornarelli’s virtuoso piano sound are perfectly harmonized and they sustain each other, blending in the distortions created by the synth. The focus of the show is an experimentation on the genre canzone, through extensive studies and researches ranging from La Monte Young to Meredith Monk, to all that scenario post – John Cage that involves influences of the sound of Gyuto Monks of Tibet. A great show, on the edge between jazz, rock and trip hop. This performance is presented in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Jordan.

Ahmed Nazmi is a bass player with a very characteristic and unique sounding. He has been revisiting his heritage in his newest evolution of sound, where his distinctive playing blends the tradition of contemporary bass playing with his Egyptian musical heritage that provides an insight into his musical backgrounds and his different approach of playing the bass. Nazmi has recently released his first Bass solo album ETHBAT HALA (Stating a Condition) featuring some of the finest musicians such as the Syrian Saxophonist Basel Rajoub, and the Dutch/Iranian percussionist Babak Madda. Nazmi presents a lavish journey through This ethnic jazz album. As he has been known as The jazz bassist with the spoton funky grooves.

Led by guitarist Ricardo Garcia, Flamenco Flow is a versatile ensemble of musicians and dancers that performs authentic flamenco, from traditional to modern, moving towards a fusion of elements from its own background (Indian, Arabic, African, South American, and Caribbean) with modern influences such as jazz, Latin jazz, bossa nova, and salsa. A cultural exchange and a meeting between various traditions, the show provides for the audience a delightful moment of pure Spanish atmosphere; “masterful” guitar rhythm combined with elegant flamenco duo dances and solos. Most of all, this is a voyage to the heat and the heart of Andalucía.
Zaman Al Zaatar is an ongoing attempt to express - through music - the extreme diversity of influences that one is subjected to by living in this place (Amman) and time, and by that portraying the capability of spiritual and emotional growth within the society in Amman and the whole region. The beauty in Zaman Al Zaatar’s music could be a reflection of every face one may encounter on the streets of our cities. As a live act Zaman Al Zaatar employs a unique arrangement of western and Middle Eastern instruments to properly accentuate the fusion of styles that combined to produce the sound of the band. They also rely strongly on the improvisational abilities of the band members to add colour to the performance and insure that the same show is never played the same way twice.

Levant is made up of 5 unique musicians with an intense passion towards performing any genre of music in their own way. Picking up Jazz standards, pop tracks, rock classics, and other types of music, they twist anything until it becomes Levant. With Lama’s stylistically adaptive vocals, Nareg’s impeccable arrangements and fluid piano-playing, Bassem’s groovy bass lines, Maher’s rhythmic outbursts, and Guy’s multi talents and infectious energy, the five of them put on their best in ever show. In this year’s Jazz Festival, Levant will be focusing on mainstream pop music and switching it up to fully-sounding jazzy tunes. Their takes on Beyoncé, Avril Lavigne, Maroon 5, and more tunes will leave you thinking whether these songs should have been Jazz standards in the first place.

Vahagn Hayrapetyan is an honored artist of the Republic of Armenia, since 1998 he was the pianist and keyboard player of the world famous ARMENIAN NAVY BAND. In 2004 organized his own band “Katuner” (the "Cats"). Toured all around the world both as a solo performer and together with different ensembles, performing with many prominent jazz musicians. Vahagn's exquisite sound and outstanding performances always giving the audience unforgettable pleasure made him one of the most popular jazz piano players in Armenia. Christopher Michael Shaheen is a Lebanese-American drum set and percussion artist, currently residing in Beirut. There he serves as a member of the Lebanese National Conservatory Big Band, Philharmonic, and Percussion Faculty. Christopher has performed with a variety of artists throughout the Middle East, including Ziad Rahbany, Ziyad Sahhab, Nasser Salameh and Tareq Al Jundi. Vahagn Hayrapetyan and Christopher Shaheen have been performing together since 2010, when they first met in Beirut.
