on REAL LOVE FOR REAL ESTATE: I always knew I wanted to be a real estate agent. Even as a child, I was fascinated with home construction, fl oor plans, and design. When my fi rst marriage ended, I immediately pursued a career in real estate. My job is so much more than selling houses; it’s placing people in homes that become the canvas for their life—a place to discover and fulfi ll their dreams. It is within the home that they will make incredible lifelong memories growing a family, throwing ball in the backyard, outings on the lake, time around a fi re pit or pool, and so much more. I love being a small part of that plan and I feel incredibly blessed to do something I enjoy each and every day.
on EMBRACING MAMAHOOD: Being a mother has been very fulfi lling, yet it is also one of the most diffi cult jobs you can have. None of us are given a book that tells us how to be perfect parents, so we just have to do the best we can. I am so proud of my children … each of them is an incredible adult who is beautiful inside and out. Family is extremely important to me. When I say family, it is not just family by blood or marriage, but the people you choose to spend your life with. I hope that if I am remembered for anything, it is that I loved unconditionally and that I tried to make a difference in the lives of those around me..
on LEANING ON LOVED ONES: For a real estate agent, balancing work and family life is very diffi cult. We get calls every day, even when we are on vacation. Thankfully, my husband understands, and it helps that my children are grown. We do our best to carve out time to unwind—taking small trips together even if it is just a day hike.
on MAKING TIME TO PLUG IN AND BLISS OUT:
One of my favorite ways to unwind is reading and listening to audiobooks. I love to travel, and I have a bucket list of places that I want to go. My most memorable trip to date was to Mexico last November. My new husband and I went on a cruise to celebrate our honeymoon. It was amazing and so beautiful.
on TAKING AIM, TAKING CHANCES: Folks might be surprised to know that one of my fi rst dates with my husband was at a shooting range. I believe I beat him that day, but now he is better than I am. He asked me to marry him at the same shooting range by using a custom target he made. It said, “Will you marry me?” I had to shoot the “yes” or “no” and he conveniently made the YES target bigger which was very cute! w
