if you have a Classic Craft with a great story to share! Our boat was purchased new in Sturgeon Bay at Sturgeon Bay Marine in 1948 by our father. We are the only owner and the boat has been kept in our unheated garage every night except one since the time we took delivery. The dolly and track system was designed by our father — he had the entire system, dolly and track, delivered to Egg Harbor where it was put together and is in service today. The boat is all original with Model K twin 95 HP engines. We added the rear seat/storage compartment; it is removable with no changes to the existing interior. According to the Brass Bell Summer 1994 issue, only 3 Sportsman with twin Model K engines were built, and only 28 of the twin engine 25’ Sportsman were built.

My brother, Ken, and I learned how to water ski behind the boat, as did many of our neighborhood friends. We went across Green Bay to Marinette and Menominee and to Chambers Island and up and down the coast line from Sturgeon Bay to Gill Rock, at the far north end of the Door County Peninsula. One of the best features of the boat was the ability to walk from the front to back and not be isolated with separate seating compartments. This made it especially good for water skiing and socializing when cruising.

The name EDJEKEN is a combination of my name, my wife Jeannie, and my brother Ken. Every summer we enjoy EDJEKEN with family and friends in Egg Harbor, Wisconsin. The EDJEKEN will be 75 years old next year and we hope to celebrate its 75 years in Egg Harbor. — Edward & Jeannie James, Egg Harbor, WI
