After your visit, continue on a scenic drive to the breathtaking Constantia Valley, where vineyard rows stretch up to the mountains. The oldest wine-making region in the southern hemisphere, dating back to 1685, Constantia Valley is today the Cape’s most intimate wine route consisting of nine wine farms, each with their own distinctive heritage and premium wines. Enjoy a private Cellar Master wine tasting and lunch at one of the finest restaurants in the valley. Return by road to Cape Town where you may Dine by Choice this evening at one of Cape Town’s many fine restaurants lining the Victoria & Alfred waterfront. Tuesday take a short cruise by private luxury yacht to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years. For nearly 400 years Robben Island was a place of banishment, exile, isolation and imprisonment. Those imprisoned on the Island succeeded on a psychological and political level in turning this prison into a symbol of freedom and personal liberation. One of the x-prisoners will lead us on a tour of the prison. Also visit an African penguin colony on the island and learn about some of the research being done by a local scientist. Return by private yacht to the hotel’s quay in time for lunch. The afternoon is at leisure in Cape Town for shopping or personal exploration. Celebrate the finale of your African Adventure with an elegant farewell dinner party this evening.
