The La Jolla Symphony is joined by the kinetic artistry of Animal Cracker Conspiracy for a brilliant imagining of Debussy's Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun and Erik Satie's Parade, bringing two seminal masterpieces of musical modernism to life.

The profound personal struggle of J Robert Oppenheimer, the architect of the atomic bomb, is powerfully rendered in John Adams's Doctor Atomic Symphony

Afterwards, the majesty of Beethoven's Mass in C, a rarely heard choralorchestral masterpiece, carries us forward into redemption and spiritual transcendence

Johann Sebastian Bach - St John Passion

Bach’s St. John Passion, a profound oratorio that interweaves dramatic chorales and expressive arias, will be performed by the La Jolla Symphony & Chorus, joined by the SDSU Chamber Choir under Dr Arian Khaefi, capturing the spiritual depth and emotional intensity of Christ’s final hours.

Jean Sibelius - Symphony No 7

The iconic Frank Zappa (yes, that Frank Zappa) spent some of his youth here in San Diego, where he discovered the modernist music that inspired his own compositions and shaped his legendary style Busoni and Sibelius, two masters of the 20th century, are featured alongside two living composers: a world premiere by emerging composer Hannah Wolkowitz, and a recent work by Adam Schoenberg, whose cello concerto Automation explores the complicated relationship between humans and technology

Gustav Mahler - Symphony No. 4

The San Diego Youth Symphony joins forces with the La Jolla Symphony in a work by the brilliant composer and cellist Andrea Casarrubios, who was first introduced to La Jolla audiences in the 2023-2024 season. The haunting beauty of Osvaldo Golijov's Night of the Flying Horses is paired with the great symphonist Gustav Mahler's Symphony no 4, which takes the listener on a journey through a child's vision of paradise

Maurice Duruflé - Requiem

Our radiant season finale features Pärt’s serene Berliner Messe and Duruflé’s transcendent Requiem, guiding us through reflection and renewal Featuring the world premiere of Akari Komura’s Nee Commission and the full force of orchestra and chorus, this concert promises to be a powerful close to the season
