SMART SEEDS A seed is a road map, a construction plan, the beginning of a new plant. Inside its hard shell, nature has packed everything needed to produce a duplicate of the plant that created the seed.

BITMAP A set of bits that represents a graphic image, with each bit or group of bits corresponding to a pixel in the image.
It is important that young plants start life a good distance from their parents, so they can get plenty of light and nutrients.

Plants produce sweet and showy fruits on purpose to be eaten, so that the seeds may be carried away by animals and humans.

GRID A grid is a pattern of horizontal and vertical axes that intersect at regular intervals.

A grid is an organic, integrated response to content. It expresses both the architecture and the music of the page. In typographic design, a grid system is a method of organizing and clarifying text on a page, reinforcing hierarchy, and amplifying meaning.

PAPER COMPOSITION Paper, like seeds has its origins in trees and certain plants. Even tough commonly used for writing, drawing or printing paper can be used in many creative ways.

The sunflower is an annual plant native to the Americas. Its name is derived from the flower’s shape and image, which is often used to capture the sun. The plant has circular flower heads. Each one consists of many individual flowers
that mature into seeds, often in the hundreds, on a receptacle base. Leaves of the sunflower can be used as cattle feed, while the stems contain a fiber which may be used in paper production.

1. Color, odor, and pleasant taste of fruits are advertisements. Sweet and showy fruits are likely to be eaten and carried away by animals.
4. Winged fruits and seeds. These seeds fall with a whirl. 5. Seeds with parachutes. They can be sustained and transported by the wind for a longer distance. 6. Explosive seedpods. Some plants use their seedpods to propel their seeds out in the air. 7. Seeds and fruits as boats and rafts. Many plants which are aquatic or live near water have seeds that can float, and are carried by it.
cafeteria 2. Edible seeds. Many seeds are edible and the majority of human calories comes from seeds, especially from cereals, legumes and nuts.
finances 3. Seed Finances. Do we want a large number of small and light seeds or a small number of large ones?
logistics 8. Hooks or points to catch a ride. Some fruits of weedy-looking herbs have a sharp, stiff hook at the end to help in holding fast to animals’ hair, fur, wool, or feathers.

Seeds come in many shapes and sizes. Orchids have the smallest seeds, some of them are almost microscopic and each capsule can contain over a million of them.
The seed of the Coco de Mer palm is the largest of all. Only found in the Seychelles, it can weigh up to 60 pounds.

LETTERFORMS The development or design of the shape of an alphabet letter.
Seeds such as black beans contain a young plant called an embryo. Under suitable conditions the embryo will grow into a genetically unique plant similar to its parent.
To embody the essence of this phenomenon, all the designed letterforms grow their shapes out of a small “c� embryo.

The principal purpose of the fruit is the protection and dissemination of the seed.

Sunflowers have a Golden Spiral seed arrangement. This provides a biological advantage because it maximizes the number of seeds that can be packed into a seed head.
