PLAZA DEDICATION
Plaza dedication honors Caswell
Janet Mabry Gipson Caswell ’66, H ’17, a longtime generous donor, was honored March 22 during a ceremony naming the space outside of Lewis Library as Caswell Plaza. President Susanna Baxter, along with a group of faculty, staff members and students, unveiled the plaque at the event. “We are honored to dedicate a prominent space in the heart of campus in appreciation for her steadfast generosity,” said Rebecca Roth Nicks, Vice President for Advancement. Caswell’s family scholarships, established in her name and in honor of her late husband Sam Gipson ’65, have been helping students for many years. “Janet is a true philanthropist,” Nicks said. “She cares deeply about our students and their success.” At the event, Caswell encouraged her scholarship recipients to pass on generosity to future generations.
