BUCKING FOR BABIES
Photos and story by Diane Anderson
N
urses for Newborns recently held its third annual Bucking for Babies fundraiser at PBR St. Louis: A Cowboy Bar at Ballpark Village. Guests were invited to make pledges and to ride a Brahman bull. Everyone enjoyed cocktails and light snacks, while listening to country-andWestern music – and, of course, raising funds for a very important cause. Many newborns are born at risk, without health care or the bare necessities to live. The organization’s nurses provide in-home medical care to babies, along with food, clothing, diapers and a chance to survive. Also, by supporting babies born to homeless mothers, the organization’s nurses can mentor struggling mothers and serve as an added lifeline to babies.
