Examine

Close observation of the problems people face today in relation to their intended purposes allows for a better identification and framing of specific challenges and opportunities.

By unbounded exploration of current circumstances and the challenges people encounter in pursuit of their goals, innovative and unconstrained thinking can generate novel ideas and form hypotheses about exciting and unexplored opportunities

Through a thorough assessment of data and customer needs, identify the concepts that possess the greatest potential to attract customers by meeting their requirements effectively.

Utilize low-fidelity prototypes to gather feedback and opinions from real customers, and then proceed to develop a more refined and reliable prototype of the idea based on their responses.

Problem Reframing

Reframing the problem to gain new perspectives and uncover innovative solutions.

User Engagement

Use relatable and understandable language that resonates with the users, fostering empathy and engagement

Design thinking is a human-centered, iterative problem-solving approach that emncompasses empathy, creativity, and collaboration to generate innovative solutions.

Each stage is a process of asking specifically directed questions using divergent and convergent thinking and critical thinking

Various tools are used for each phase to \direct the design thinking process

EMPATHY

Design thinking is a problem-solving approach that prioritizes empathy, focusing on understanding users' needs and experiences in order to generate impactful and effective solutions through iterative processes

CO-CREATION

Design thinking incorporates the practice of co-creation, which involves collaborative and inclusive processes where stakeholders and users actively participate in generating novel ideas and solutions by leveraging their diverse perspectives and knowledge.

PROTOTYPING

Design thinking integrates prototyping as a key aspect of the iterative innovation process, enabling the creation of tangible representations for ideas and concepts to facilitate testing, feedback, and continuous improvement.

users to evaluate how well the solutions meet their needs and identify areas for improvement.

Balance

Balance user needs, technical feasibility, and business viability when refining the solutions.

Infographic and Data Visualization

CHALLENGE

Visually communicate the design thinking model as established by Jeanne Liedtka including all the applicable tools for each stage within the process.

You do the work, at the end you will have produced something you can be proud of.

Design a visually appealing infographic outlining each stage with all the relevant tools including an indication of the overarching theme of the design thinking stage.

The ovearall look and feel of the infographic is intended to display an informative narrative aligned with each stage, graphically. Contrasting fonts and font sizes enable a creative approach to applying the principles of hierarchy and navigating from the most important information from top to bottom.

Digital Painting

The theme of the drawing/painting is “My Fantasy World” and is inspired by a selection of a series of photomontage, digital collage and digitally manipulated art of artist Hanne Adam from Berlin Germany

Source images for inspiration to create a layered composite applying image editing techniques and digital painting to convey a compelling narrative through visual design.

My Fantasy world highlights rose coloured glasses as a mechanism for truthwhere the lenses reflect the concrete jungle and a tool to break through the doom and gloom of the reality we live in as a choice to see the beauty in the world representated by the digitally painted flowers. The juxtaposition of the realistic world reflected in the galss versus the flawless flowers represents the duality of life.
