ROUND 8 Saturday 11:00 AM-11:50 AM Darby Dan S805 Building Advanced Speaking Skills David DiMeo - david.dimeo@wku.edu Description: Do your students struggle to get beyond sentence level exchanges? Are they frustrated when trying to go beyond the classroom and talk to native speakers? Reaching the advanced level in speaking involves much more than vocabulary and grammar structures, but anxiety and the ambiguity of unstructured conversation can overwhelm the most dedicated of learners. This session will discuss building engaging activities to help learners overcome that anxiety and flourish at in conversation. We will look at specific activities, games and challenges that can be used in any class beyond the absolute beginner level, and talk about how to incorporate these into your program.
