Bula Ladies! Welcome to the 2018 Sheraton Fiji Denarau Women’s Golf Classic. This year we will be hosting over 116 women golfers from New Zealand, Australia and Fiji for another fun week in the sun. This is our longest running tournament, celebrating 16 years in 2018. From our team at PaR nz Golfing Holidays, we thank you for your fantastic support. The popularity of this Fiji tournament just blows us away each year – ‘word of mouth’ advertising works every time! Back in 2003 when 11 girls entered our first Fiji tournament, it was like a family outing. Who would have ever guessed all these years later we would regularly have over 100 golfers each year. Welcome back to our tournament regulars who have been coming to Fiji for many years. We also have a lot of new faces along with first time visitors to Fiji. Even the local Fiji girls are out in force this year wanting to join the fun. The secret is well and truly out as to how much fun this tournament is and how fabulous Fiji is as a golf holiday destination. The Denarau Women’s Golf Classic is presented by The Sheraton Fiji Resort which is a 5-star luxury resort with facilities including the world-class Heavenly Spa, premium beach front restaurants, a myriad of swimming pools, relaxation areas by the beach, tropical gardens and water recreational activities. And golf right at the resort! The tournament format is a 54-hole pairs competition playing Foursomes, 4BBB and Combined Stableford rounds. The stableford scores from each of the 3 days play contribute to your overall pair’s total. The opening round is a fun teams Ambrose Day where you get the chance to ‘mix n mingle’ with girls from other golf clubs. The theme for 2018 is the Letter P with the Welcome Function as P = Puzzle, the mid way function as P = Pyjama Party and at the conclusion of the week you can go wild and come dressed anything starting with P at The ‘P Party’. History of the Theme One of the reasons for the tournament’s popularity has been its infamous theme. But in fact, it was never our idea! Right back in the beginning we supported our naming sponsor Sun Latte Milk by wearing their brand colour orange. Along came Regal Salmon in 2007 and the ‘fishy’ theme idea took hold. From there the girls went wild filling up their suitcases each year with all sorts of fancy dress outfits.
