After serving in the world' s greatest Air Force for seven and half years, John Thompson moved to Atlanta in 1996 to work in his family ' s business. The following year he became licensed with a boutique luxury real estate firm. After many years of success, John joined Keller Williams in 2003. In 2005 he began a decade-long leadership path starting with the position of Co-Team Leader of KW Cityside in Smyrna GA, then he moved into the role of Asst Team Leader of KW Peachtree Road. Currently, John serves as the Managing Director of KW Commercial Peachtree Road as well as National Managing Director of KWC Office.

How do you keep your team or yourself motivated despite conflicts and obstacles?

We have a higher purpose for serving. Regardless of the conditions of the market.

What are your current goals?

Helping at least 100 Team Members earn $1M GCI.

What one thing makes you most proud?

Any and everything my daughter does well.

What’s the most important risk you took and why?

Getting into leadership and stepping down from leadership. Once you stop doing something, you may wonder if you can still do it.

How do you continue to grow and develop as a leader?

Read, read, read. Seminar, seminar, seminar. Coach, coach, coach. Mastermind, mastermind, mastermind.

What advice can you give someone who is new and just getting started?

Quickly identify your ideal client. Then create and implement a prospecting and marketing plan to attract them. Never stop seeking new relationships.
