Garuda Announces End to Including the Airport Tax in Domestic Ticket Price Effective October 1, 2014 Garuda Indonesia has announced that effective October 1, 2014, the airport authority – PT Angkasa Pura, will collect separately the passenger service charge/airport tax now included in the price of an air ticket on Garuda. Apparently Angkasa Pura has complained that it is exclusively their purview to collect the charge. Moreover, Garuda complains that losses of Rp. 2.2 billion each month due to airport taxes not paid by connecting flight passengers had to be made good by the carrier. Meanwhile, there's a contradictory regulation issued by the Department of Civil Aviation that decrees beginning September 9, 2014, the airport service charge should be included in the ticket price of all Indonesian airlines. It now remains to be seen how Angkasa Pura will implement this decision and begin collecting the charge from all the domestic airlines flying from Denpasar. Perhaps anticipating the

chaos ahead, Garuda is recommending that passengers arrive early when checking in for a domestic flight. As reported separately by Bisnis.com, the Minister of Stateowned Enterprises, Dahlan Iskan said that while he understood Garuda's decision to stem losses and remove a tax from their ticket price that made the national carrier's tickets appear more

expensive, the move of separating the tax from the ticket price is nonetheless a “very primitive practice. Iskan called on the Ministry of Tr a n s p o r t a t i o n t o address the problem and require the airport tax to be included in all airline tickets sold in Indonesia. G a r u d a apparently chose to ignore the Ministry's instructions, that should have required all other domestic carriers to conform to Garuda's long-standing practice of including the tax in the ticket price. This occured when Garuda determined that other airlines were ignoring the new regulation without suffering any sanctions. www.balidiscovery.com

BALI THE RIGHT WAY Gday again punters and welcome to the latest on the streets of Kuta. What a terrible game we all endured last weekend when the Hawks took the win against the Swans in Melbourne. I would say it would have to be the most boring game of footy I have watched in years and am really disapointed that the game was such a white wash. I guess congratulations is in order to the Hawks and their supporters and one would trust that this aliasj@kutaweekly.com weekend is a better grand final with the Rabbittos taking on the Bulldogs. Apparently its been a long long time since the Rabbits have had a go at a final so it is bound to be a ripper day. There really is no other place to watch the game this Sunday other than “Moo Moos Steak House on Melasti. This is the true home of N.R.L in Bali and they really put on a great show. The day will start at about 8am with the Footy Show, The NSW Cup at 10 am, followed by the Holden Cup, Broncos versus Warriors at 12 noon, then the Grand Final between the Rabbits and the Bulldogs is at 3.00pm so its going to be a big day. The powers that be are whacking Bali Hai out for 10,000 Rupiah each and as is usual, the menu is one of the best in town. They have 10 plasmas and one of the biggest projector screens on the island. The sound system backs it all up with a great surround sound making the experience that much better. There is a kids safe section where they have playstations and lots of things to keep the billy lids busy while the adults enjoy a few quiet sherbs. Thanks to Mr Richard and his team for the support and we trust that our many readers get in and enjoy a great day with the crew at Moo Moos. You can check out their adverts in the centre of the paper and the front page panel. On a final note I'd suggest if you are planning to spend the day at Moo Moos that you get in and book or reserve your seats as quickly as possible.

Incoming President Joko Widodo T r a n s i t i o n Te a m Identify that US$1.5 Billion Spent Each Year on Government Meetings Signaling that fiscal conservancy may be a hallmark of the new Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla administration, the transition team for Indonesia new President and Vice-President has identified that Rp 18 trillion (US$ 1.5 billion) is spent on meetings held annual by the government. A member of Commission X from the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR-RI). Dolfie O.F. Palit, told

finance.detik.com that one of the main factors contributing to the enormous cost of government meetings is the tendency to starred hotels, when less luxurious venues would do. Speaking on Thursday, September 25, 2014, Dolfie contends that meeting held in the capital do not need to rent

hotels when ministerial meeting rooms, also luxurious in their own right, would suffice. T h e n e w presidential transition team calculates that Rp. 11.6 trillion (US$1 billion) is spent on government meetings convened in the nation's capital of Jakarta, while the remaining RP. Rp. 6,4 trillion (US$557,000) is spent on meetings held in the provinces. Incoming Indonesian president Joko Widodo has promised to trim wasteful spending in his new administration. www.balidiscovery.com

Until Kingdom Come Bali to be Home to Lavish M u s e u m Commemorating the Majapahit Era Beritabali.com reports that a museum housing artifacts from the Majapahit era of Indonesian history will be built in the Balangan area of South Bali. The Majapahit Empire was centered on the Island of Java whose influence and military victories extended across much of Southeast Asia. The Majapahit Era lasted from 1293 to 1500 A.D., with its zenith occuring during the reign of Hayum Wuruk and his trusted Prime Minister Gajah Mada from1350 to 1389. The collection of Majapahit memorabilia will be housed in the new Museum Jali Mali – an acronym formed from “Jawa Bali Majapahit Kembali” (Java-Bali Majapahit Returns). A massive 30-hectare site will surround the new museum intended to both demonstrate the majesty of the Majapahit Empire and become a major tourist attraction on the Island.

Yuniani AR, the construction consultant for the Museum Jali Mali said: “At this time, we are in the process of collecting items to be displayed at the museum. To date we have already collected some 30,000 items that include prehistoric items, ancient keris (daggers), beds, seals of the

Majapahit Court, paintings, statues, batik and decorative accessories from the era.” Yuniani explained that the museum dedicated to the Majapahit Empire is being constructed on the initiative of national businessman Hasyim Djojohadikusumo. Djojohadikusumo is a wealthy businessman and the younger brother of failed presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto.

Starting a company in Indonesia could get a lot easier

In addition to a vast collection of items from the Majapahit Era, the Museum Jali Mali will also house a replica of the Majapahit Royal Palace of which no trace remains in modern times. “The reason we are building (the museum) in Balangan, Bali and not in Trowulan, East Java is because we feel the Bali location is a better choice in order that tourist visiting to Bali can view the c o l l e c t i o n , ” Yu n i a n i explained. The projected cost of the museum is put at Rp. 5 trillion (US$ 435 million). Construction is scheduled to start in 2015 and be completed in 2016. In closing, Yuliani said: “The name 'Jali Mali' was selected because Bali and Java are inseparable. We hope the museum can educate the younger generation that the history of Majapahit existed, that the King of Majapahit existed and this is our ancestry.”

One of the biggest pain points in operating a company in Indonesia is the long and winding bureaucratic process to set it up in the first place. Fortunately, Indonesia's M inis t r y of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan RB) announced today via RRI that registering a company in Indonesia which needed about 53 days has now been slashed to only six days (theoretically).

Ministry, getting the License for the Operation of Trading Businesses (SIUP) and company registration (TDP) at the Trade Ministry, filing for a workforce permit at ManPower and Transmigration Ministry, and applying to participate at the Social Security Management Agency (BPJS). The six days timeframe In addition to all that, involves an online submission to Kemenpan RB explains that the build an Indonesian company at Indonesian government has also the Law and Human Rights made improvements in other

e l e c t r i c i t y, filing for land and building ownership, applying for building permits, paying tax and insurance premiums, settling civil lawsuits, bankruptcy issues, and business related disputes. It's definitely good news for anyone who's looking to build a presence in Indonesia. Besides that, the Indonesian government is working on a few online tools like Lapor and etool to let citizens report on misbehaving government officials and Satu Layanan an online directory for all government services. Recently India also sped up the patent filing process using the internet.

Alex Johnston, Rabbitohs wonder boy, was on track for a baggy green IF YOU think Alex Johnston can score tries, you should see South Sydney's NRL boy wonder bat.

Pipped for the NRL's rookie of the year honours by Wests Tigers half Luke Brooks, Johnston will proudly don the famous red and green in Sunday's Grand Final against Canterbury. But those in the know claim the gifted teenager could have been chasing a baggy green instead. “You'd have to think it was possible. He was an incredible talent,” said former South East Junior Cricket Association representative coach Andrew Taucher. Johnston has bagged 20 tries from 17 games in a spectacular entry to the NRL this season. The 19-year-old is crossing the stripe at a faster rate than South Sydney's all-time highest try-scorer Nathan Merritt, the very

winger who Johnston has replaced on the end of the Rabbitohs' backline. From all reports, though, the youngster was equally adept at finding the boundary as the try line before he ditched cricket to pursue his rugby league dream. Ta u c h e r r e c a l l s t h e extraordinary summer day back in 2009 when Johnston singlehandedly led La Parouse to a 97run win over East thunder in an under-14s limited-overs match at Moore Park. Taucher was umpiring as Johnston hammered an unbeaten

229 in La Perouse's total of 361. He opened up, carried his bat, blasted too many sixes to remember and so utterly dominated that La Perouse's next highest tally came from 33 sundries. While Johnston's opening partner was dismissed early for a duck, the future Redfern flyer was still in the middle at dusk. “I had a front-row seat for the fireworks and I'll never forget it,” Taucher told AAP. “No one was safe. There were cars dodging cricket balls all over.” Taucher has no doubts Johnston would have achieved higher honours in cricket. “It's great to see him doing so well in rugby league because he could have been anything as a cricketer,” he said. “But he just couldn't commit because he was playing football. He only played a few games but, when he did, it was certainly a struggle getting him out.”

Bryce Gibbs, Tom Rockliff and Pearce Hanley among AFL players partying on overseas holidays THE AFL season finished last weekend and a host of players have dashed overseas to unwind. From Las Vegas to New York — if there's a party going on you're a decent chance to run into an elite footballer. Carlton duo Bryce Gibbs and Lachie Henderson are in Germany and are getting right into the swing of things at Oktoberfest. Brisbane Lions trio Tom Rockliff, Pearce Hanley and Josh Green are in Las Vegas — and we're guessing they're not the only ones..

Here's Hanley taking in the view from a balcony at The Cosmopolitan.Carlton ruckman Cameron Wood is in New York and is doing his best to look like a tourist in this shot in Times Square. Travis Boak is making the most of his time away from Port Adelaide by tucking into some fish and chips after a surf. Ever the professional, he even apologised to club nutritionist

A n d r e w Rondinelli in this Instagram post. Kangaroos midfielder Levi Greenwood took the opportunity to catch up with former teammate Aaron Edwards on Grand Final day. Of course they'd all rather be doing what Hawthorn is doing — celebrating a premiership. Josh Gibson and Ben Stratton are keen to let everyone know how many flags they've won. While Matt Spangher is happy to reflect on a great season (in the sunglasses of teammate Taylor Duryea).

Fans fume over Hunt Dally M snubbing BRONCOS fans have responded angrily to the snubbing of star No. 7 Ben Hunt for Halfback of the Year honours at the Dally M awards on Monday night. Hunt was bizarrely left out of the NRL's Team of the Year despite polling significantly more votes than any other halfback. Brisbane fans bombarded the club's switchboard and website on Tuesday morning protesting the decision to name Manly's Daly Cherry-Evans in the Team of the Year ahead of Hunt. Hunt polled 28 votes in the Dally M Medal count, to finish fifth overall. Cherry-Evans, one of the game's great assets, polled 23 votes. It is understood a Sydneybased judging panel has the final vote on selections for team of the year and went with Cherry-Evans as the best No. 7 this season. There was a feeling that

Hunt may have paid the price for the fact Broncos games are often shown on delay into Sydney on Friday nights. Hunt had an outstanding season, statistically better in

almost every category to CherryEvans who was excellent in the first half of the year but tailed off along with Manly. Even the NRL's reasoning for picking Cherry-Evans reveals he was inconsistent, with the blurb on NRL.com stating he was chosen because he stepped up in big games. This is despite Manly going out in straight sets in the finals. “A return of 15 try assists and 10 line-break assists may

seem low in comparison to other halves in the NRL but when the big moments need a hero — such as his last-minute field goal against the Knights in Round 10 — DCE is often the man who delivers,” a report on NRL.com read. Sydney Roosters and M a r o o n s backrower Aidan Guerra could also feel hard done by after Newcastle and NSW enforcer Beau Scott was chosen ahead of him for second rower of the year. Jamie Lyon's selection as centre of the year also raised some eyebrows. Johnathan Thurston and Jarryd Hayne were deserved cowinners of the Dally M Medal. While Hunt would be justified to be miffed at being overlooked, the fact he finished fifth in Dally M Medal voting solidifies his place among the code's best halves.

Rossi 'almost glad' despite Aragon crash

secure his first win of 2014. Rossi feels he could have been right up there with him — but for the crash. “Before the race we made a change that would have helped me a lot; the bike was strong, I was going well, I had recovered the gap in the first few laps and I was there with the leading riders. “I felt good and I am sure I could have made a good race, so it was a real shame to fall. “In a way I'm almost glad

difficult weekend on Sunday we were competitive and this was supposed to be a track that is not very good for us.” Rossi was briefly knocked out in his crash, triggered when he made a mistake and ran off the track. The bike spat him off when he crossed some wet astroturf, the presence of which prompted questions in the wake of both Rossi and Andrea Iannone's similar crashes. “ T h i s i s always very dangerous and especially in these cases because the track was still wet from the morning shower and there was nothing to be done,” Rossi explained. “In my case, if I had gone off track one meter before, I would have just gone wide, instead I touched the grass and I fell.” The concussion diagnosis means Rossi will still need to be given medical clearance before he can take part in the Japanese MotoGP at Motegi on October 1012.

One disappointing issue was that they served only North Indian food, but the manager told us that they were expanding their menu. But they are really good at what they were serving. Definitely, a good place in Bali for tasty North Indian food.

Patsy Kerr had been summoned to Omagh County Court after it emerged he had been the cause of a collapsed sewage p i p e f r o m a neighboring house. Kerr told the court about his secret tunnel and the reasons behind it: “The wife has a bad snore on her and after watching the Shawshank Redemption on RTE one night in 1994, I decided to do something about it so I waited till she was in a deep sleep and then set about digging a hole under the bed in the direction of the pub. I used all manner of tools from spoons to a heavy duty tunnel

smelling drink on me in the morning and I was explaining it away as a natural odour. But recently I was finding myself singing rebel songs and stuff coming back up the tunnel and it was only a matter of time before I was caught anyhow. The landlord was also wondering how I was just appearing out of nowhere at the same time every night and disappearing from the women's toilets.” The tunnel was finally discovered after the DOE performed a survey on a sewage problem which turned out to be caused by a pipe Kerr had hit accidentally, causing sewage to leak into his tunnel over five years. The judge questioned Kerr's wife as to why she never smelt the sewage odours from her husband. Mrs Kerr simply shrugged.

Entire body left riddled with worms It is the most expensive and many would argue delicious part of a sushi menu. But one man's love of sashimi nearly killed him after it led to his body becoming riddled with tapeworm. The Chinese man had gone to his doctor complaining of stomach ache and itchy skin. To his horror, scans revealed his entire body had been infected with tapeworm after eating too much sashimi raw slices of fish. Humans contract tapeworm infections from sushi by eating raw fish that has been infected with the worm in its larvae stage. When fish eat tapeworm eggs, the hatching larvae attach themselves to the intestinal wall of the fish and the worms infect the fish flesh. Because sushi is not cooked, the larvae can in turn transfer into the flesh of any human that eats the fish. Continue to next page (33)

From last page Once a human is infected, a tapeworm will grow inside the intestine to a length of up to 15metres over a period of weeks. It can survive for years and go undetected for weeks or months, in turn releasing its own eggs that infect other parts of the human body. Symptoms include fatigue, constipation and abdominal discomfort which can be so mild the victim may not notice anything is wrong. If larvae begin to migrate to other parts of the body they can start to eat away at the liver, eyes, heart or brain and cause life threatening conditions. Doctors believe some of the uncooked Japanese delicacy of raw meat or fish must have become contaminated. He was treated at the Guangzhou No. 8 People's Hospital in Guangdong Province, in eastern China. Tapeworm infections occur

a f t e r ingesting the larvae of diphyllobothrium, found in freshwater fish such as salmon, although marinated and smoked fish can also transmit the worm. While cases have increased in poorer areas due to i m p r o v e d sanitation, cases have increased in more developed countries,. 'But other popular dishes might also be implicated, such as raw salted or marinated fillets which originate from Baltic and Scandinavian countries carpaccio very thin slices of raw fish common in Italy, raw salmon and ceviche lightly marinated fish.' Dr Yin, of Guangzhou No. 8 People's Hospital, told the website

that'smags.com that eating uncooked food contaminated with tapeworms' eggs could eventually cause cysticercosis, when the adult worms enters a person's blood stream. This type of infection is lifethreatening once it reaches the brain.

BEEF - LAMB - CHICKEN Aries Mar 21 - Apr 20 We hear people talk about how we can be unknowing captains of our own destinies through our subconscious thinking affecting and influencing many outcomes in our lives. Where each of us is at in our lives is the result of decisions we have made. With all of that in mind, how much influence to do you believe you have over particular outcomes in your world? You might think so much is beyond your control. You might believe certain outcomes are set in stone and can't be altered. You're being encouraged to summon courage to bring about changes you want but feel powerless to instigate. You don't need much proof of your ability to make these but the cosmos is determined to provide some, and very soon. Taurus Apr 21 - May 21 I spoke recently with someone who, by their own admission, was an average tennis player yet managed to play against a world champion. I asked them, 'how did you feel and what was going through your mind as the match started?' He replied 'my strategy involved ensuring that, if the ball came over the net toward me, it was going to be sent back every single time'. He ended up playing an impressive game against the highly regarded tennis pro. What does this have to do with your forecast for the coming week? That's simple. Don't concern yourself with might go wrong or why you ought to feel inferior to a problem that gives the impression of being able to get the better of you. You're more adept and able than you think to prove it wrong!

The

Q

Gemini May 22 - Jun 22 Are you where you are in areas of your life through choice? The answer to that question is undoubtedly 'yes'. This might have been a combination of decisions you've made in the past combined with fate intervening to ensure you met certain people during your lifetime or found yourself in certain situations that encouraged you to make particular decisions. Where you might feel resentful about where you are now, there is much to be grateful for. Don't dwell on what might have been, 'gone wrong' or caused you to be in a position far removed from where you'd like to be. An emerging astrological climate intends to bring change but it recognizes why you both want and need such change to occur. This week marks the start of that process.

WHERE BETTER TO WATCH YOUR FAVORITE SPORTS WHILE IN KUALA LUMPUR ON BUSINESS or DOING YOUR VISA RUN We are a local pub in Bangsar that shows all the best sporting events from the AFL, EPL, Cricket, Rugby and anything else that you care to ask us for! We want Ronnie Q's to be the best place to go to for watching and conversing about sport, whilst also enjoying a nice cold beer and great pub grub.

Cancer Jun 23 - Jul 23 When driving to certain destinations, we're aware of how likely it is we will encounter traffic jams. No matter what time we arrive at certain junctures, we will find ourselves stuck in a situation we can do little to avoid or navigate. There are always alternate routes we can take but these can prove more problematic than helpful – and extremely frustrating when they lead to where we would have ended up had we not taken them! A situation in your world has, for some time, been repetitive and returned you predictably to a tedious and frustrating scenario. No matter what you've done to avoid it, you've ended up having to accept or tolerate it. The coming week presents you with a much welcomed detour. Leo Jun 24 - Aug 23 'Start at the very beginning, it's a very good place to start'. So sang Julie Andrews in 'The Sound of Music'. What it is it you need to start at the very beginning now? Is there really any other way to start something? As much as you probably wish you were further down the proverbial road with a plan or pursuit and had more flexibility in terms of precisely where you can commence either or both, it is important for more than one reason that you accept where you are in the scheme of things. In the same way we must sometimes confirm the obvious when something electrical doesn't work, need exists now for you to embark upon something at the most sensible place to begin – at the very beginning! Don't succumb to any pressure to take a short cut. Virgo Aug 24 - Sep 23 Sometimes, creating something wonderful requires imagination mixed with patience and experimentation. Think, for example, how an artist achieves unique colors and textures on a canvas. It would be easier to simply dab a brush in paint squeezed straight from a tube onto a palate yet one color mixed with another suddenly creates something more interesting or appropriate. In a similar way, you need to apply imagination, patience and experimentation in an area of your world. Don't succumb to an easier, tried and tested option. Be willing to try the untried. Be flexible and see what results from taking a small and calculated risk. You possess the ability to surprise yourself through achieving what you believed to be beyond your ability.

BEST LEBANESE CUISINE IN BALI Libra Sep 24 - Oct 23 We rely greatly on signs whilst driving. Satnavs can sometimes only help to a certain point. When we find ourselves going round in circles, we become frustrated with lack of signage or someone's idea of helpfulness. What appears obvious to one person is sometimes not obvious to another and it is unfair when assumptions get made about what is and isn't obvious! A repetitive situation you're experiencing has much to do with what one person in your world believes to be obvious and straightforward and what you perceive as being considerably more complex. Take a leaf out of their book. Consider why they believe a situation to be so straightforward. If you can, then a necessary way forward will soon become clearer to you. Scorpio Oct 24 - Nov 22 Nobody knows us better than we know ourselves. Yet, despite how high our opinions of ourselves might be, we know we're far from perfect. We make mistakes. We make errors of judgment. We learn from them, most of the time, anyway. With that in mind, consider where in your world you believe no amount of effort will ever bring a desired or delightful result. Consider as well why you might be experiencing a 'once bitten, twice shy' scenario. You're being encouraged by at least one person you know to pursue a particular plan, invest some effort or take a small risk yet, through your belief that you know yourself better than they do, you're being quick to dismiss the suggestions. To allow some magic into your world now, have confidence in the fact that you could actually be proud of having taken the brave step you're being encouraged to take! Sagittarius Nov 23 - Dec 21 Think back, if you can, to a pair of shoes you wore when you were a child. They were appropriate for you back then and you know, without having to give much thought to the fact, that they would be far from appropriate for you now. Sometimes, we don't have to travel quite so far back in our memories to recognize what might have been appropriate previously couldn't possibly be appropriate for us now. The sky speaks clearly of you clinging to the past in some way and wishing you had available to you something or someone that you believe would be as appropriate today as it or they were back then. Focusing so intently on the past is likely to cause you to miss more than one opportunity awaiting you in the future that you really can trust is appropriate! Capricorn Dec 22 - Jan 20 At some point, when we were younger, it was explained to us how two plus two equaled four. We grasped the concept of this. Then, it was explained to us how the number four could be arrived at in numerous other ways. This required us to get our heads around more concepts and some of these were slightly more complex than what we'd grown used to. In your world now, there exists a need for you to accept that a solution needn't be as cut and dried as you understand it to be. You have other options that can achieve the same result but some of these will take effort on your part to understand and have faith in. The learning process you're embarking upon now is not intended to confuse you. It is intended to help you and all you need to do is embrace it with an open mind. Aquarius Jan 21 - Feb 19 Holding a heavy object with an outstretched arm usually results in us growing tired after a finite period of time and relaxing. Unless the purpose of holding something in such a way surrounds muscle building, there are easier ways to hold or carry something heavy. With that in mind, consider how you're expending effort unnecessarily. Consider that there is actually an easier and less tiring way of achieving the same result. You might be enjoying the challenge doing something a certain way offers but can surely recognize how your energy or patience levels will become depleted if you don't opt for doing it more imaginatively. This week, an option to do something easier than you're used to presents itself. It wants and needs to be seized by you. Pisces Feb 20 - Mar 20 Imagine two football playing friends playing on separate teams. For the duration of the game, their friendship is overridden by the desire to win and use whatever fair tactics can achieve this. This doesn't make them enemies. The friendship bond still exists but an important shared goal becomes more important briefly. After the game, the shared goal remains in the past, until the next game. In your world now, you could be mistaking healthy competiveness on the part of someone close as intimidating or contradicting your belief about how they should be reacting toward you. They have no agenda. They expect the same from you. Don't allow oversensitivity to play a part in your attitude toward someone perceived behavior or how you should be responding.

The following is a myth busting info page covering different songs or bands each week chosen by one of our many loyal readers, Please Enjoy…STEELY DAN “Do it again”

Steely Dan is an American jazz rock band founded by core Fagen began playing in local groups. One such group,

Recorded with a revolving cast of session musicians, such as Larry Carlton, Steely Dan's music is characterized by complex jazz-influenced structures and harmonies. Becker and Fagen are whimsical, often sarcastic lyricists, having written "cerebral, wry and eccentric" songs about drugs, love affairs, and crime. The pair are also known for their near-obsessive perfectionism in the recording studio: Over the year they took to record Gaucho (1980), an album of just seven songs, Becker and Fagen hired at least 42 studio musicians and 11 engineers. Steely Dan toured from 1972 to 1974 before retiring to the studio. The group disbanded for some years in 1981, and throughout most of the next decade Becker and Fagen were less active, though a cult following remained devoted to the group. In 1993 the two reunited and began playing concerts. Steely Dan has since released two albums of new material, the first of which, Two Against Nature, earned a Grammy Award for Album of the Year. They have sold more than 40 million albums worldwide and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March 2001.

Becker and

known as The Bad Rock Group and later as The Leather Canary, included future comedy star Chevy Chase on drums. They played covers of songs by The Rolling Stones ("Dandelion"), Moby Grape ("Hey Grandma"), and Willie Dixon ("Spoonful"), as well as some original compositions. Terence Boylan, another Bard musician, remembered that Fagen took readily to the Beatnik life while attending college: "They never came out of their room, they stayed up all night. They looked like ghosts black turtlenecks and skin so white that it looked like yogurt. Absolutely no activity, chain-smoking Lucky Strikes and dope." Fagen himself would later remember it as "probably the only time in my life that I actually had friends."

Do It Again" In the mornin you go gunnin' For the man who stole your water And you fire till he is done in But they catch you at the border And the mourners are all singin' As they drag you by your feet But the hangman isn't hangin' And they put you on the street [Chorus:] You go back Jack do it again Wheel turnin' 'round and 'round You go back Jack do it again When you know she's no high climber Then you find your only friend In a room with your two timer And you're sure you're near the end Then you love a little wild one And she brings you only sorrow All the time you know she's smilin' You'll be on your knees tomorrow [Chorus]

Walter Becker and Donald Fagen met in 1968 at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. As Fagen passed by a café, The Red Balloon, he heard Becker practicing the electric guitar. In an interview, Fagen recounted the experience: "I hear this guy practicing, and it sounded very professional and contemporary. It sounded like, you know, like a black person, really." He introduced himself to Becker and asked, "Do you want to be in a b a n d ? Hawaii

One of the most beautiful islands in the world, Bali is Indonesia's most popular dive holiday destination. Many visitors find the attraction of good shore-based resort diving set against a stunning back drop of huge, magnificent volcanoes and picturesque rice paddy terraces, simply irresistible. The waters of this island are surprisingly unheralded. Bali scuba diving isn't simply the holiday 'extra' that some people might imagine. Previously the preserve of surfers and beach holiday types, nowadays the island sees an increasing number of tourists hauling dive bags around. Indeed, one of the greatest features of Bali are the incredibly rich and varied dive sites.
