Gripen Wheels: – Good service more important than the price

The service and customer service efforts and the fact that Scandic Trans cares about building relations with its customers, living close to them and getting to know their flows, has paid off. For many customers this is precisely reasons that tips the scale when choosing a logistics partner. One of them is Gripen Wheels Finland.

Gripen Wheels is the biggest wholesaler in the Nordic countries when it comes to heavy tires, rims and tubes and they provide heavy duty tires, agricultural tires, industry and harbor tires, truck tires, forest tires, ATV tires and other terrain tires, as well as rims and tubes to all of these. Their own import and big storage capacity make up the base of the business, with its head office and main warehouse in Jönköping, Sweden.

The subsidiary in Finland, which today employs 17 people, was founded a little over 15 years ago and is located at Lintuvuori industrial area in Mustasaari. For almost as long the company has used Scandic Trans for the weekly deliveries of goods from Jönköping to Mustasaari. – Gripen Wheels Finland has its own import and sells on to retailers in all of Finland and also to the Baltic countries. We are talking volumes of about 450 containers per year. From Sweden we also weekly take on more urgent deliveries – it can be anything from two to twenty freight meters, sales manager Leif Norrgård explains.

Every Friday Scandic Trans collects the goods from Jönköping, and they are unloaded on Monday afternoon in Mustasaari.

There the goods are reloaded for further transport out to retailers, that can be located in tens of places in the country. The cooperation works smoothly and

Norrgård appreciates that the transport is uncomplicated and does not require any terminal changes. – We know each other and everybody knows how the transports, loading and unloading works. We have never considered other partners – the price is not what is crucial here, it is the service. We also appreciate that Scandic Trans has a good and new vehicle fleet, Norrgård concludes.
