Mats Stjernsted, Schweden Sweden

Mats Stjernsted wurde 2017 zum Leiter der Malmö Konsthall ernannt. Zuvor arbeitete er als Direktor des Kunstnernes Hus in Oslo und Index in Stockholm. Nebenher kuratierte Stjernstedt Ausstellungsprojekte für IASPIS, das Swedish Institute und für europäische Institutionen wie Museo Reina Sofia, Madrid, Tate Liverpool, KunstHalle Sankt Gallen, CAPC Bordeaux, und Kunsthalle Bern. 2017 fungierte er als Kurator des Nordischen Pavillions bei der Biennale in Venedig. Mats Stjernsted was appointed Director of Malmö Konsthall in 2017. Before this, he was Director of Kunstnernes Hus in Oslo and Index in Stockholm. Alongside these positions, Stjernstedt has curated exhibition projects for IASPIS, the Swedish Institute and with European institutions such as Museo Reina Sofia, Madrid, Tate Liverpool, KunstHalle Sankt Gallen, CAPC Bordeaux, and Kunsthalle Bern. In 2017, he was curator of the Nordic Pavilion at the Venice Biennale.

Alexandra Gulea, Deutschland/Rumänien Germany/Romania

Alexandra Gulea wurde 1970 in Bukarest, Rumänien, geboren. Nach dem Studium der Freien Kunst an der Fine Art Academy in Bukarest zog sie nach Frankreich, wo sie 1997 mit cum laude an der Pariser Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts abschloss. 1999 studierte sie Dokumentarfilm an der Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München. Ihre Arbeiten als Autorin, Regisseurin, Editorin und Visual Artist umfassen Dokumentarfilme, Fiktion und Experimentalfilme.

Alexandra Gulea was born in 1970 in Bucharest, Romania. After studying fine arts at the Bucharest National University of Arts she moved to France where she graduated in 1997 cum laude with a diploma at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris. She then studied documentary film at the University of Television and Film Munich in 1999. As an author, director, visual artist and editor, she has made documentary, fiction and experimental films.

Soso Dumbadze, Georgien Gerorgia

Soso Dumbadze, geboren 1981, ist Absolvent der Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln. Er promovierte an der Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg. Er ist Professor am Georgian Institute of Public Affairs. Sein Film Sunny Night von 2017, Co-Regie Lea Hartlaub, wurde auf dem DOK Leipzig Festival uraufgeführt. 2006 gründete er Sa.Ga. Publishing for Society und veröffentlichte Autoren wie Walter Benjamin, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Harun Farocki, Chris Marker und andere. Soso Dumbadze, born in 1981, is a graduate of the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. He received his doctorate from the University of Fine Arts of Hamburg. He is a professor at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs. His 2017 film Sunny Night, co-directed by Lea Hartlaub, premiered at the DOK Leipzig Festival. In 2006, he founded Sa.Ga. Bernd Brehmer, Deutschland Germany

Bernd Brehmer erhielt seine éducation cinématographique im Münchner Filmmuseum. Er wurde Teil des Werkstattkino-Kollektivs und widmete sich fortan Schätzen der filmhistorischen B-Seite. 2003–06 war er Geschäftsführer der Exit Film Distribution, schrieb regelmäßig Festivalberichte für die Süddeutsche Zeitung und fungiert als Programmberater internationaler Festivals. 2006 gründete er gemeinsam mit Dunja Bialas das Underdox Film Festival, das sie gemeinsam bis heute leiten. Bernd Brehmer received his éducation cinématographique at the Munich Filmmuseum. He participated in the Werkstattkino collective, where he appreciated the lost flip sides of film history. 2003–06 he was CEO of Exit Film Distribution, he regularly contributed texts on film for the Süddeutsche Zeitung and works as programme advisor for several international film festivals. In 2006, he founded the Munich based Underdox Film Festival together with Dunja Bialas, which the two of them still direct.

Angelika Lepper, Deutschland Germany

Angelika Lepper studierte Medienkunst und Philosophie und Ästhetik in Karlsruhe und Hamburg. Sie lehrte an der Filmuniversität Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF im Studiengang Montage und als Gastprofessorin an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Ihre filmkünstlerischen Arbeiten wurden international gezeigt. Sie ist Gründungsmitglied des Netzwerks female:pressure, das sich seit den 1990er-Jahren für Gendergerechtigkeit in den elektronischen Künsten einsetzt. Heute arbeitet sie als Filmeditorin, DJ und Künstlerin in München. Angelika Lepper studied media art and philosophy and aesthetics in Karlsruhe and Hamburg. She taught editing at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF, and as a visiting professor at the Bauhaus University in Weimar. Her artistic films have been shown internationally. She is a founding member of the network female:pressure, which has been working for gender equality in electronic art since the 1990s. Today, she works as a film editor, DJ and artist in Munich.

Ulrike Sprenger, Deutschland Germany

Ulrike Sprenger, geboren 1965, ist Professorin für Romanische und Allgemeine Literaturwissenschaft an der Universität Konstanz. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte sind die französische Erzählkunst des 19. Jahrhunderts (Proust ABC, 1996) und die religiöse Kultur des spanischen Barock (Stehen und Gehen, 2013). Ab 1993 war sie regelmäßig Interviewpartnerin in Alexander Kluges Kulturmagazinen zu literatur- und kulturwissenschaftlichen Themen.

Ulrike Sprenger, born in 1965, is professor for Romance and general literature studies at the University of Konstanz. Her research focuses are French storytelling of the 19th century (Proust ABC, 1996) and religious culture during the Spanish Baroque (Stehen und Gehen, 2013). From 1993 onward, she was a regular interview partner in Alexander Kluge’s magazine shows on literary and cultural topics.

Elaine Guerini has worked as a film critic and reporter for the last 25 years, covering the major film festivals around the world. Since 2001, she writes for the cultural supplement of Valor Econômico, the leading newspaper specialist in business and finance in Brazil. She has published two books: All in the Family, a biography of a Brazilian family of actors, and Backstage, a collection of her interviews with world cinema personalities. She is the Brazilian correspondent for Screen International.

C.J. Johnson, Australien Australia

C.J. Johnson ist Präsident des Film Critics Circle of Australia, hält Vorträge über Kino an der Art Gallery of New South Wales und anderen Institutionen, ist stimmberechtigt bei der Vergabe der Golden Globes und ist Mitglied von FIPRESCI, dem internationalen Filmkritikerverband. Hannes Wesselkämper, Deutschland Germany

Hannes Wesselkämpfer studierte Literatur, Kunstgeschichte und Medienwissenschaft an der Universität Konstanz und Filmuniversität Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. Seit vielen Jahren arbeitet er als freier Journalist und Kurator für Kurzfilme bei verschiedenen Filmfestivals, insbesondere dem Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis. Des Weiteren ist er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter bei der Kolleg-Forschungsgruppe Cinepoetics tätig. Dort beendete er sein Dissertationsprojekt zu filmischen Oberflächen und der Begrifflichkeit von Spektakel. Hannes Wesselkämpfer studied literature, art history and media studies at the Universität Konstanz and Filmuniversity Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. For many years, he has been working as a freelance journalist as well as a short film curator for various film festivals, most notably at the Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis. He also works as a researcher at Cinepoetics –Center for Advanced Film Studies, where he completed his PhD project on cinematic surfaces and the notion of spectacle.

C.J. Johnson is President of the Film Critics Circle of Australia; he lectures on cinema at the Art Gallery of New South Wales and other institutions and is a Golden Globes Voter and a member of FIPRESCI, the International Federation of Film Critics. He is the film critic for Mornings on ABC Radio Australia, a columnist for Metro Magazine, and Head Lecturer in Screen Storytelling at Sydney Film School.
