Letter From President
I became a part of the Panhellenic community at the beginning of my Freshman year during Fall Formal Recruitment. To be quite transparent, I came into the process with many reservations. However, pushing myself out of my comfort zone and participating in recruitment has impacted my time at KU greatly and has proved to be one of the best decisions I could have made. I not only feel a special connection with the members in my chapter, but with the community as a whole through the relations I have made with members of Sorority and Fraternity Life. The Panhellenic community has aided me in breaking out of my shell, provided me with leadership opportunities, and has instilled in me a confidence I didn’t know I had. My advice to you all as Potential New Members (PNMs) is to come into the recruitment process with an open mind. Although it is incredibly important to search for chapters that align with your personal values, you may be pleasantly surprised to find your home not where you originally had planned. I also encourage you to get to know other PNMs! Some of my dearest friends aren’t members of my home chapter, but members I met during the week! It’s nice to go into the upcoming semester and see some familiar faces from your time as a PNM on Jayhawk Boulevard. Every single Panhellenic chapter at KU offers an abundance of opportunities and enables its members to achieve excellence in every area of their lives. I am incredibly excited for each of you to be going through the recruitment process. Enjoy it to the fullest, and do not hesitate to reach out to myself, other members of the Panhellenic executive board, or your recruitment counselors if you have any questions.
