Swedish national day was celebrated; then came an autumn day on the theme of folk belief anda spooky evening in the park. Altogether there were about 450 events bringing our museum to life: workshops, practical workshops, guided tours, and other programme points.

We were given a new regional assignment by Region Skåne: to manage the medical history collections. Through the state labour-market project "Cultural Heritage Lift" we have had the opportunity to start digitizing a large number of pictures.

We also had a drive with new programmes at the museum farm of Östarp du ring the summer, with a day when the livestock were let out to graze, with Midsummer celebrations and harvest festivities. Work on the garden around Gamlegård went on throughout the season. Efforts to make Östarp into a culture reserve continue; a decision is awaited this year.

We are convinced that our way of working in dialogue with the surrounding world and our endeavour to bring the museum to life, have yielded results. In 2012 we had a total of roughly 235,000 visitors. Of these, about 83,000 passed through the entrance to Kulturen in Lund. We have thus had a 20% increase in visitors. At the end of the year the Association for the Cultural History of Southern Sweden had 3,766 members. Welcome to Kulturen in 2013!
