Dear Teachers, Students, and Parents

Often parents will ask me if it is still necessary to learn English as a second language. With that question in mind, I decided to do a little bit of research and share that information with you. The following statistics highlight the importance of learning English in today's globalized world and the opportunities that it can provide to those who speak it fluently:

According to the Harvard Business Review, English is the language of international business, with over 1.75 billion people speaking English worldwide. This means that companies operating in non-English speaking countries are increasingly demanding employees who can communicate in English.

Most information available online, in books, and in academic papers is written in English. In fact, English accounts for around 50% of the world's internet content. By learning English, individuals can access a vast amount of information that would otherwise be inaccessible.

According to a survey conducted by EF Education First, English proficiency is a key factor in career advancement. The survey found that employees with strong English skills were more likely to be promoted and receive higher

English is the language of instruction in many of the world's leading universities. In fact, according to a report by the British Council, English is the language of instruction for over 50% of the world's top universities. By learning English, individuals can pursue advanced degrees in a wide range of fields.

According to the British Council, approximately 1.5 billion people speak English, making it the third most widely spoken language in the world. By learning English, individuals can communicate more effectively when traveling to countries where English is spoken.

According to a study published in the Journal of Multilingual and Multicultural Development, learning a new language can lead to greater intercultural competence and understanding. By learning English, individuals can communicate with people from different cultures and backgrounds, which fosters a greater understanding and appreciation of different cultures.

The Harvard Business Review reports that English is the language of science and technology. In fact, approximately 90% of scientific journals are published in English. By learning English, individuals can keep up with the latest advances in science and technology and communicate with other professionals in their field.

English is the language of the internet. According to Internet World Stats, over 1.7 billion people use the internet in English. By learning English, individuals can communicate with people from around the world on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

Better cognitive performance

Learning a new language has been shown to improve cognitive skills such as memory, problem-solving, and creativity. According to a study published in the Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, bilingual children have been found to perform better on cognitive tasks than monolingual children. By learning English, individuals can improve their overall cognitive abilities.

According to the British Council, English is the most widely used language for international business and diplomacy. In fact, the British Council estimates that over 1 billion people are currently learning English worldwide. By learning English, individuals can join a global community of English speakers and take advantage of the opportunities that this presents.

In conclusion, the statistics presented above demonstrate the importance of learning English as a second language in a country where English is not the predominant language. From increased career opportunities to personal growth, the benefits of learning English are vast and far-reaching. Therefore, I strongly recommend that individuals consider learning English as a second language to take advantage of these benefits.

Writing is one of the last skills we learn in our native tongue, but when it comes to a second language. English in this case, becomes easier because our brain is already trained in that skill. There are different types of writing, informal, academic, and professional, and today we will share some powerful tips you can implement to take your writing skill to the next level.

Read as much as you can: This will help you improve your grammar, your sentence structure, expand your vocabulary, and get familiarized with the different writing styles.

Make writing a daily habit: Dedicate 10 to 15 minutes daily to write about your day, new experiences, or new vocabulary. You can keep a diary, or have a blog. Remember practice makes perfect!

El programa de inglés en línea tiene como objetivo ayudar a los estudiantes a lograr el dominio del idioma requerido en la comunicación social.

Se trabajan funciones específicas del lenguaje, vocabulario, estructuras gramaticales y habilidades de lectura y escritura, para mejorar la competencia y poder desempeñarse de acuerdo con el nivel en estudio.

El curso enfatiza mucho la interacción y las tareas prácticas utilizando un componente en línea y otro en sesiones de autoestudio.

Cada nivel contiene un módulo de conversación que permite fortalecer la producción en ingles, todo esto a través de actividades dinámicas.
