Support Staff

Brennan Bechard was named director of basketball operations in June 2013. Bechard joined the Kansas basketball staff as a graduate student manager in August 2009 and was named assistant director of basketball operations in summer 2011. In his role, Bechard works with the day-to-day operations of the KU program in the office, travel and scouting.

A native of Lawrence, Kansas, Bechard graduated from KU in spring 2009 with a degree in sport management. He was named to the Athletics Director’s and Big 12 Commissioner’s honor rolls his sophomore year. Bechard is married to the former Danielle Hayes and they have a daughter, Lucy. Bechard’s father, Ray, is the head volleyball coach at Kansas and his sister, Ashley, was a fouryear volleyball letterwinner at KU from 2001-04.

As a staff member, Bechard has been a part of eight Big 12 regular-season championships, four Big 12 Tournament titles, six NCAA Tournament Sweet 16s, four Elite Eights and one Final Four.

An invited walk-on who lettered three seasons at KU from 2007-09, Bechard saw action in 35 games and started his final home game in Allen Fieldhouse against Texas. The guard appeared in five postseason contests for KU. In his three seasons at KU as a player, Bechard earned three championship rings. He was a member of the 2008 NCAA National Championship team, three Big 12 regular-season title squads and two Big 12 Championship title teams. Additionally, Kansas advanced to two NCAA Elite Eights (2007, 2008), three Sweet 16s and one Final Four with Bechard wearing the Crimson and Blue. Bechard came to Kansas from Barton County Community College where he played for the 2005-06 season.

Former Kansas men’s basketball guard Jeremy Case rejoined the KU staff as video coordinator in August 2016., entering his third season as video coordinator. Case came to KU after four seasons as an assistant coach at Houston Baptist University. While at HBU, under longtime Huskies’ head coach Ron Cottrell, Case was part of the Huskies’ transition from the Great West Conference to the Southland Conference in 2013-14. After finishing 6-25 in 2013-14 and 14th in the Southland, the Huskies improved every year going 12-16 and tying for eighth in 2014-15 and 17-17 and fifth in the 2015-16.

KANSAS SOUTHEAST MISSOURI HOUSTON BAPTIST

Case was a member of Kansas’ 2008 NCAA National Championship team and after graduation was on the KU staff while taking graduate courses at KU for the 2008-09 season. From there, Case was an assistant coach at Southeast Missouri State for three years before moving to Houston Baptist. A native of McAlester, Oklahoma, Case played in 94 games while at Kansas and won four Big 12 regular season and three Big 12 postseason tournament championships. Including the 2008 title, Case was part of three NCAA Elite Eight teams while playing at KU. A redshirt in 2004-05, Case earned his bachelor’s degree in communications in 2007 and was a two-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team honoree in 2006 and 2008. Case’s father, Win, is an assistant men’s basketball coach at Middle Tennessee and was a college teammate of KU head

coach Bill Self at Oklahoma State. Case’s mother, Rita Newton, played college basketball at Seminole (Oklahoma) Junior College.
