BRIT DYRNES

Brit Dyrnes bor og arbeider i Trondheim. Utdannet i faggruppe keramiske disipliner fra Kunstakademiet i Trondheim og Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart.

Hun har arbeidet aktivt som keramiker med hovedvekt på keramisk skulptur i over 40 år. Brit har fra 1985 og frem til nå utført 40 offentlige utsmykninger.

Mye av det Brit Dyrnes har skapt er stedsspesifikk kunst hvor skulpturformen er blitt til i tverrfaglige arbeidsprosesser mellom kunstner, landskapsarkitekt/arkitekt og murer.

Som kunsthåndverker er hun forankret i det bruksrelaterte kunstbegrepet, men gir dette en videre fortolkning med skulpturelle former som inviterer til aktiv deltagelse og bruk. Det nye kulturhuset NORMORIA skal stå ferdig og åpne i 2025. Opera’n, Kulturskole, Museet og Biblioteket flytter inn i det nye og storslåtte bygget.

NORMORIA blir et betydningsfullt sted både regionalt, nasjonalt og internasjonalt. Hvor står vi nå?

Leder for utsmykkingskomiteen, Brit Dyrnes vil fortelle litt om det som skjer- eller det som kommer til å skje, hva kunst i bygget og utenomhus området angår.

Brit Dyrnes lives and works in Trondheim. Educated in ceramic disciplines from Trondheim Academy of Fine Arts and Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart 1974-79.

She has worked actively as a ceramist with emphasis on ceramic sculpture for over 40 years. From 1985, 40 public decorations were executed.

Much of what Brit Dyrnes has created is site-specific art where the sculpture form has been created in interdisciplinary work processes between artist, landscape architect/architect and mason.

As a craftsman she is rooted in the concept of use-related art, but gives this a wider interpretation with sculptural forms that invite active participation and use.

The new cultural centre NORMORIA will be completed and open in 2025. The Opera, Culture School, Museum and Library move into the new and magnificent building.

NORMORIA will be an important place both regionally, nationally and internationally. Where do we stand now?
