In an electric power distribution system, a ring main unit (RMU) is a metal enclosed set of switchgear used at the load connection points of a ring-type distribution network. • It has 4 terminals. 2 terminals for incomers and 2 outgoing terminals for transformer connection.

• Used for connecting one transformer to utility.
