Young Automotive History Seldon “Jack” Olsen was a wanderer who traveled Utah and its surrounding states on rail lines during the early 1920s. He settled down in Morgan after he met and fell in love with Ina Rose Beal. They were married in 1923. Jack worked as a mechanic at a repair shop in Morgan. Before long, his employer made him a partner; Jack was only 22 years old. He continued to work at the repair shop until 1925, at which time he purchased his partner’s interest and became the sole owner. He renamed the shop Olsen Motor Service and applied for an Oldsmobile franchise, which was granted to him. He made his first car sale in 1925. During the Great Depression of 1929, Jack didn’t have any employees, but he continued to run his business. He hooked a car to the back of his vehicle and towed it door-to-door, refusing to return home before he sold it.

Jack opened the first Layton dealership in the 1940s. He travelled east by train and drove cars back from Detroit sometimes with friends and sometimes alone to restock his vehicle inventory. the war and turbulent 1940s, Jack continued to grow the dealership.

“There’s nothing like this in the valley,” building manager Megan Lundgren said. “It’s definitely very rewarding, and it’s an exciting thing for the community.”

Three Peaks is the vision of Dr. Jeffrey Bennion and Dr. James Blotter of Cache Valley Ear, Nose & Throat. They purchased the land eight years ago with the intent of building a multifaceted medical facility unlike anything else in the area. Other local practices got involved as time went on, and construction officially began in September 2020. “The unique thing about this facility is all the doctors and owners of these individual clinics have come together as a group, and they own the building together,” Lundgren said. The founders of Three Peaks engaged as much local talent to build the facility as possible. The energy-efficient structure was designed by Christian Wilson of Center Street Architects, and Lundahl Building oversaw construction. The main area features a striking 3D topographical mural from Provo-based artist Havoc Hendricks. The 46,748-square-foot, three-story building can accommodate as many as 14 medical practices. Lundgren said all of the clinics have moved in except for three, and construction is expected to be complete later this summer. Ascent Aesthetics is a premier aesthetics practice offering preventative, anti-aging and issue-oriented medical-grade skincare overseen by the physicians at Cache Valley Ear, Nose & Throat. Services include Botox, fillers, PDO threads, microneedling, laser hair removal and facials. Cache Valley Dermatology specializes in diseases of the skin, hair and nails. The state-of-the-art clinic is equipped to handle everything from acne to rashes to skin cancer and also provides cosmetic treatments, laser treatments and permanent hair removal. Cache Valley Ear, Nose & Throat has provided comprehensive ear, nose and throat services to children and adults for over 25 years, including treatment of speech and swallowing issues, sleep disorders and thyroid conditions. The practice also includes audiology and allergy clinics. Cache Valley Imaging is a new clinic offering another option to hospital imaging as well as a convenient resource for the medical

Schweppe Pediatric Dentistry is a father-and-son team helping little smiles shine bright through preventative, restorative and orthodontic care. The practice addresses the oral health of infants and children through adolescence, including those with special medical needs. Willis Orthodontics transforms smiles with an easy, comfortable orthodontic experience for kids, teens and adults. The team works with patients to find the treatment option that fits their lifestyle and goals, from high-tech metal braces to removable clear aligners. The majority of these clinics have a long history in Cache Valley, Lundgren said. Many of the providers have transitioned into private practice from the hospital setting in a quest to better care for patients. “We all work together as a whole,” she added. “We have all of these specialties and resources at our fingertips, all in one location.” Three Peaks Medical Building is located at 2245 N. 400 East in North Logan.
