WOMEN BUILD BRINGS TOGETHER LOCAL WOMEN OF ALL WALKS OF LIFE TO ADDRESS THE POVERTY HOUSING CRISIS FACING MILLIONS OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN ACROSS THE GLOBE. HERE AT HABITAT WE BELIEVE THAT EVERYONE DESERVES A SAFE & AFFORDABLE PLACE TO CALL HOME.

women build nail down the details Habitat for Humanity's Women Build program brings together women from all walks of life to address the housing crisis facing millions of women and children worldwide. Each Women Build participant raises a minimum of $35 to take part in a build day. This plus additional funds raised will support the building of the house you will be volunteering on. $35 includes breakfast and lunch on site on site the day of your build! Once you have reached this goal we will send an update on your fundraising page and send you your build details via email as confirmation. While the minimum to raise is $35, we encourage you to gather additional support from friends and family.

Why is the fundraising important? You will be helping to create a home ownership opportunity for a deserving family. You will come together with other women for this truly empowering experience. You will experience a day filled with learning new skills, networking, meals, goodie bags and fun! A list of the fundraising incentives is included in this packet. We will also be offering volunteer incentives based on the number of hours you spend volunteering on builds and the ReStore from May 1st-June 11th.

women build homeowner bio This Women Build home will be constructed for the Highsmith Family. Najjee Highsmith is a single-mother of a 2-year old daughter. Currently they are very costburdened by the apartment they are renting and find it difficult to save money for other activities. The air units in her apartment are very old and not efficient, causing her utility bills to be extremely high. Currently, Najjee works full-time for Wells Fargo, providing customers with financial guidance and understanding. On top of working full time, she is also in school to become a dental hygienist. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies with her daughter, taking trips to Sweet Frog and grilling out with her family. Najjee cannot wait to own her own home, and is so proud of the hard work she’s put into this process. She cannot wait to make her mother and daughter proud by becoming the first homeowner in her family. “I would like to say I highly appreciate everyone who puts their days and time into building a home for my family and I am very grateful!”
