and help local businesses better understand and appreciate their unique perspectives about business and being a part of their community,” said Terry Ward, COO of KPC Media Group, which publishes Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly. “The millennial generation, ranging in age right now from 18 to 33, are far different from their parents’ generation,” he said. “The way they work, play, their politics, loyalties, community involvement, and optimism about the future drive them in ways unmatched by any other generation.”

Michelle Stoffel, Jodie Zimmermann, Abby Tigulis and Melissa Rife were named 2013-14 Northwest Allen County Schools Teachers of the Year.
Teachers of the Year, Thiele honoree announced Two elementary and two secondary teachers were named Northwest Allen County Schools Teachers of the Year. Michelle Stoffel, a teacher at Hickory Center, and Jodie Zimmermann, a teacher from Huntertown, were named Elementary Teachers of the Year. Abby Tigulis, a teacher from Maple Creek Middle School, and Melissa Rife, a teacher from Carroll High School, were named secondary Teachers of the Year.
“Congratulations and thank you for the service that you gave our students this past year,” said NACS Superintendent Chris Himsel. The increase in the number of Teacher of the Year awards reflects the growth of the district. Stoffel joined NACS team in 1992. She teaches second grade at Hickory Center Elementary School. One of the parent nominators stated that “she shows patience every day. She never raises
her voice. She is always positive and encouraging. She excels in helping her students learn reading and math. I feel blessed to have had both of my children learn from her.” Another nominator wrote, “Michelle is meticulous in her knowledge of each student’s learning needs and the necessary interventions to help each be successful.” Jodie Zimmerman joined NACS in 2003.
