provides a connection as strong as a spider’s Web, free from limitations and issues that plague air cards, satellite and cable providers,” Swick answered. “ZipSpider delivers high-speed Internet access to your home or office via high-frequency radio. The wireless network, based on wireless broadband platform, is completely owned and operated by ZipSpider. This eliminates the complications and limitations associated with using wires, equipment and services provided by multiple companies.” What geographical area does ZipSpider cover? “ZipSpider has access to the communications infrastructure of Swick Broadcasting, allowing access to the tri-state area,” Swick said. “Additionally, I have established agreements for the use of additional tower locations, expanding ZipSpider’s service area south and west of Fort Wayne. By acquiring these locations, ZipSpider has gained entrance to 20 additional Indiana counties.” ZipSpider’s coverage area includes lower Michigan, western Ohio and a good portion of Indiana, covering as far south as Kokomo. “One of my most satisfying moments is when we can ‘shock and awe’ a customer,” Swick said. “Recently, ZipSpider was

able to meet a business customer’s need, providing wireless service with enormous bandwidth for streaming a live video conference in an area where my competitors — the majors — could not effectively provide adequate bandwidth. It’s a great feeling of satisfaction to provide a solid product over the competition.” So, whether you are using radio waves to listen to one of Swick Broadcasting’s nine stations — WLKI 100.3, URock 101.3, ESPN Radio 92.7, Thunder Country 105.5, True Oldies WBET 99.3, WLZZ 104.5, WMYQ101.1, Classic Rock 92.3 and ESPN 1230 — or to take advantage of the unparalleled speed, reliability and savings offered by ZipSpider, I hope you will appreciate the innovation behind radio waves, and the mindset of innovative leaders like Steve Swick who continually think of ways to use innovation in order to better meet our technology needs.
