The DeKalb County Courthouse stands at the center of downtown Auburn. It houses three courts and numerous county government offices. Its stained glass dome and impressive architecture serve as a tourist attraction.

The DeKalb County Courthouse in downtown Auburn is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The county government Web site is co.dekalb. in.us Circuit Court Judge Kurt Grimm presides over Indiana’s 75th Judicial Circuit. The court is on the third floor of the courthouse; phone 925-2764. Superior Court I Judge Kevin P. Wallace is one of two Superior Court judges in DeKalb County. Superior Court I is on the third floor of the courthouse; phone 925-4723. Superior Court II Judge Monte Brown is the judge in DeKalb County’s third court, also on the third floor of the courthouse; phone 925-5277. Prosecutor ClaraMary Winebrenner Page 28

is the DeKalb County Prosecutor. The prosecutor’s office is on the first floor of the courthouse; phone 925-1646. The DeKalb County Chief Probation Officer is Katherine Cullum. The probation office is in the DeKalb County Office Building, 215 E. 9th St., Suite 200, Auburn; phone 925-2400. Sheila Stonebraker is the assessor for DeKalb County, supervising property assessments. The assessor’s office is on the first floor of the courthouse; phone 925-1824. Auditor Jan Bauman is the bookkeeper of the county. Her office is on the second floor of the courthouse; phone 925-2362. The county clerk of courts is Holly Albright, carrying out the clerical duties of the county courts as well as handling

election responsibilities, marriage licenses and other fees and licenses. The clerk’s office is on the second floor of the courthouse; phone 925-0912. DeKalb County is governed by three commissioners — Donald Grogg, Randy Deetz and Jacqueline Rowan. They meet Mondays at 8:30 a.m. in the Commissioners Court, on the second floor of the courthouse. They may be reached through the auditor’s office; phone 925-2362. The commissioners also act as the county drainage board, meeting Thursdays at 8:30 a.m. DeKalb County has a seven-member county council that meets the first Monday of each month at 8:30 a.m. in the courthouse. Members are Alan Middleton, president; Richard Ring, vice president;
