AT THE HORIZON MOVIE
“AT THE HORIZON” is the first thriller drama to come out from Laos. It’s a story of a conflict between two opposite ends of the society. ATH is the first film by the newly formed group of young filmmakers who called themselves LAO NEW WAVE CINEMA. As a Co-founder of Lao New Wave Cinema, I was responsible for all the graphic design and promotional materials for the film. I also acted as a main protagonist in the movie.

SAMSIANS IDENTITIES Project Background
SAMSIANS PRODUCTIONS is a small freelance studio I started in Laos. In 2008, I and two other designer friends decided it was time for us to push beyon our selves, to follow our gut feelings and that led to the birth of SAMSIANS. In Lao language, SAMSIANS simply means THREE APPRENTICES. To us it is a very fitting name. In 2013, It was time to start the rebranding project. It’s time to look back, evaluate and look ahead.

HANDICAP INTERNATIONAL BEHAVIOUR CHANGE COMMUNICATION CLIENT _ HANDICAP INTERNATIONAL Vientiane, Laos COMPLETED _ 2013
26
Project Background
HANDICAP INTERNATIONAL LAOS OFFICE wanted to communicate behaviour changes regarding the issue of children with disabilities. The intended target was Lao parents in remote villages in the southern provinces. One challenge is a very low literacy rate among the targeted parents. Additionally, The communication shall work at two levels of encouraging prevention and facilitating rehabilitation. The communication approach had to rely heavily on visuals rather than words. The materials produced include: _ Project logo/ visual identity _ 8 Posters _ Stickers _ Flipbook Manual

CORRUPTION TYPE PROJECT Project Background
The task is to create a type as a course assessment. The opportunity lies in the fact that this project can be used to express my concerns for a developing country where I am from. It’s the chance to extend the brief. The challenge is to create a type that provokes emotions through its concept and creation.

The decision was made to create a type that deals with CORRUPTION, which is one of the many issues faced by most Asian countries as well as Laos.
42
The aim is not to judge the situation, but to express a personal concern in a thoughtful approach.
THE DIRECTION_ The word CORRUPTION was to be written with dirt and washed away by water as a destroying gesture.

The result is an uggly type with the strike through line to suggest the action.

Local design studio tours. Ever wondered what type of design job you might like to get after studying? We Bring Cake is an intimate series of studio tours giving students a behind the scenes look at local design agencies both big and small. All designers like cake, right? So, in return for us bringing along some cake, local agencies have offered us their valuable time to meet them, see what they do and ask them all the questions you like. A sweet deal not to be missed.

SYNERGETIC is the title of our graphic design class exhibition to be held in June 2014. My responsibilities include organisational aspects and creative directions.
One of the approaches is to get every student involved in designing a poster in order to compile into a series of posters, which can be put up as a feature on the exhibition night.

SUSPENDED BODIES _PART 1 Project Background
SUSPENDED BODIES is a series of conceptual explorations of visuals and images of objects and things, which are transformed into new lives in new environments. This is a personal initiative to develop the thinking and image making skills. At a personal level, it is an attempt to create something out of all the preliminary ideas, sketches and visuals, which constantly occupy one’s mind.

FROZEN DREAM
Project Background
FROZEN DREAM is a self-portrait project in Photoshop class at SOUTHBANK INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY. The brief was to create three panels to express our selves. This was not an easy task. I approached it by freezing the feelings and emotions in a dream like state of balance. The balance that I explored was almost like a state in which one is to consider the before, the now and the next. In the meantime it’s a balancing pose of your destructive thoughts, your burdens and your constructive sides. I created prints and a video piece to help express the feelings and emotions in suspension.
