What is Mercy? The Mercy of Jesus in the New Testament
Landing Up! What are you doing to do with the rest of your life?
Beyond Career to Calling Becoming the Leaders We Were Created To Be
This presentation takes its starting point from Pope Francis’s many statements on the Church as “field hospital” whose first task is to express mercy. What does Jesus say about mercy? How does Jesus express mercy in the New Testament? What does it mean and what are its implications for Christian teaching and behavior?
COME TO ASK THE BIG QUESTIONS: Why do I feel stuck? What is the purpose of my life? Why don’t I enjoy my work? How can I get my life on track? Why can’t I find real love in my relationships? Where is the peace in a busy world? What does God want me to do with the rest of my life? The answers are found in what each of us is made for: THE MEANING AND PURPOSE OF OUR LIVES.
What does it take to be a highly principled and effective leader? Leaders are faced with enormous responsibilities to their organizations, families, churches, and larger community. How do they integrate these responsibilities that foster deep integrity rather than fragmented selves? To answer these questions, this talk will examine the importance of the meaning of vocation. The thesis of the talk is a simple one: no matter how hard we try, through technical progress, skill development, economic and financial formulas, and strategic foresight, we will never get work right, unless we get leisure right.
