very road starts with a story, and Kon2re story started with a single contour which became the first stepping stone, a building line to a whole new world of possibilities. Exploring contours and bringing them to life is where our curiosity lies. Since its very beginnings, the Kon2re Studio has been envisaged as a concept in progress, exploring designs and their transformations, bold in its approach and prepared to move the boundaries. The French word contour sums up the essence: it is equally important what is on the outside, on edge; the unstructured, the inarticulate, forming visible shapes in the play of light and shadow. Our products reveal that very essence; what we carry on the inside is what reflects our attitude on the outside, transforming our product with your daily needs.

We are inspired by texture, movement and various shapes that can be transformed and used in everyday life, accessories that can last more than one season unburdened by time. Our creative process always strives to develop innovative products that can promote a sustainable, responsible and conscious way of life. Materials we use for our design are carefully selected and sustainable to create a product with an ethical, cultural and emotional connection. Having that in mind, our design philosophy is a slow fashion production, taking the time and effort to ensure quality, design awareness and conscious manufacturing. It is about exploring new forms with innovative, biocyled and performative materials through multifunctionality. We strive to be a responsible luxury fashion brand by choosing to use materials with a story; smarter, more durable, natural, renewable, cruelty-free and vegetarian. For most of our production, we use ultra-durable synthetic vegetarian leather made from vinyl, which is REACH compliant material with excellent performances of strength, waterproof, UV and fade resistant and excellent abrasion resistance.
Since our decision of not using leather enabled us to reduce environmental impact, we are aware that synthetic alternatives we use are not entirely without concerns. Therefore the idea of focusing on bettering and mixing the materials in our design seemed like the logical next step in impacting the environment with a more immediate tangible effect. We chose to implement in our production a new, patented, natural, non-woven material made from pineapple leaf fibre called Pinatex made by Ananas Anam. It is a by-product of the agriculture industry, therefore no extra land, water or pesticide is required to produce the raw material. In its essence, Pinatex proved to be lightweight, durable, breathable and water-resistant vegan material with a strong ethical source and low environmental impact. In other words, a better choice for a better future.
Through our accessories line of bags, we are working on designing three different models: Party, Harmony and Attitude. Each of the product represents a primary design thought; multifunctionality intertwined with simplicity. One bag can transform into several different models just by changing the way one wears it. Depending on the model, each bag is worn as a shoulder bag, clutch or a belt bag, backpack or a handbag with adjustable straps and handles. The consumer can adjust the product any way that suits him, depending on his attitude or daily needs. The fact that the design process doesn’t stop by coming out of the studio but is primarily upgraded by the end consumer itself is the guiding principle for Kon2re design. The surface of the material is structurally played out with sharp horizontal and vertical lines that formes distinctive Kon2re shape that resembles an accordion. Dynamic that is forming between the seams,
as they are never still, gives an illusion of a live object. When in full use texture of the material is expanding, so to be „alive and performing“ it has to be worn. All Kon2re products are entirely handcrafted with skill and precision, thus bringing the emphasis on the artisanal care to details. Quality is the crucial element that sculpts the entire design in the unique elegance of the movement, which determines the final product posture. Each Kon2re piece forms the contrast between the lining and the outer material, creating balance with various combinations of the pattern and colours. Since the debut appearance of the first model Harmony, the distinctive functional opening design proved to be of utmost functionality. It opens and closes with a concealed zipper on one side, allowing all Kon2re models to incorporate the simplicity of elegant design.

Melina Marelja, a designer from Zagreb, Croatia and the owner of a design studio, KON2RE, researches all spheres of design by shifting the limits and shapes with the current focus on fashion design and accessories. Trained on the faculty of Textile Technology and various experiences in the fashion and film industry, her vision is creating meaningful functional products with new and innovative materials. Motivated by a desire to spread awareness about the ecological potential of material as well as the product itself, she`s creating new products unburdened by seasons, or rather a product that has no expiration date.
