As the White House strengthens its position toward resolving national security concerns about the well-known video service, TikTok claimed on Wednesday that the Obama administration wants the Chinese ownership of the business to sell the platform or face a potential ban.

Two persons with knowledge of the situation indicated that TikTok received the latest request to sell the app in the most recent weeks. The Chinese internet business ByteDance is the owner of TikTok.
