Also on April 30 was the 12th annual Run to Remember 5K, held by the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation, which is a not-for-profit organization striving to honor the lives of U.S. fallen heroes. The race took place on the lakefront in the city, and more than 5,000 citizens, police officers and families were expected to participate. Illinois Marathon and Half Marathon

Over 5,000 runners participated in the eighth annual Illinois Marathon and Half Marathon on April 30 in Champaign. The fl at course tends to be popular among racers, and the finish line inside the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s Memorial Stadium is exhilarating. Along with the marathon and half marathon, contestants can run the 10K, 5K, Youth Run or the Marathon Relay. A Wheel Chair Half Marathon is also available. Marathon Male Overall Results 1. The 12th annual WE GO RUN took place on May 1 in West Chicago. The different races featured are a 10K, 5K, 1 Mile and the Kiddie Dash, and all aim to promote positive health and wellness while raising money for the West Chicago School District 33 athletic programs. This year specifically, the goal was to purchase new athletic uniforms and equipment to student athletes at Leman Middle School.
