HONOURING THE SCANDINAVIAN TRADITION IN DESIGN The Scandinavian expression of form is the DNA of my work, and in this collection, I aimed for functionality with an elegant, timeless design. It was important for me to create a cohesive collection. The process of designing was in itself time consuming, but at the same time, it was an exciting challenge. I intended to make the visual appearance of the design simple, elegant, and timeless. 4
As for the chairs, they must be sufficiently comfortable that users are at ease for an extended period without getting locked in a particular position. It is said, ”the best sitting position is your next one”. The impact of the product on its surroundings and its contribution to sustainability were a significant concern for me as well, especially in the selection of materials with a view to their quality – stainless steel, lacquered surfaces, noble woods, laminate, linoleum. That’s how the creative process yields something new that we may keep for a long time in our own lives and then pass down through future generations.

· SUSTAINABILITY · THOUGHTFULNESS Our intent with the LEHM collection is to inspire consumers and companies to pay more considerable attention to the environment by purchasing durable furniture of high quality. The timeless design and long service life of our furniture constitute a rejection of ”purchase-and-discard” practices. The attention to durability combined with the use of natural materials (wood, linoleum, reusable fabrics) is an expression of our concern for the environment and the people who inhabit it.

· COMFORT · ERGONOMICS Chairs are essential in the meeting room and the home. That’s why they need to be comfortable and provide support for the body at the same time they delight the eye. The seat and back shells are shaped to be ergonomically correct, and turning and tilting mechanisms are available to provide additional comfort. When you’re sitting for extended periods, the ability to move provides for a noticeably better experience. 10

¡ FUNCTIONALITY ¡ DIVERSITY The LEHM series has been designed to serve several purposes in terms of functionality. A variety of expressions in the design (different designs of the seat and back shells, table legs, and tabletops), multiple heights, and a range of optional functional additions add up to a wide gamut of adjustment capabilities and uses. The various models are suitable for a private residence, a cafeteria, a meeting room, an office, a waiting room, a library reading room, and much more.

· FLEXIBILITY · SOLUTION-ORIENTED A key element and a prominent theme in the LEHM concept is flexibility. As one example, thin solid wood ’sleeves’ may be added to the metal legs of the Spike chair to provide the warmer look of wooden legs. They come in natural oak, black stain, or walnut. That way, leg sleeves conveniently change the look of the Spike chair and table legs from oak to black stain to walnut. As another example, the numerous mixand-match possibilities for chairs and tables provide infinitely flexible solutions. 16

¡ A WEALTH OF OPTIONS ¡ VERSATILITY The LEHM program offers a spectacular number of variations by letting users choose from among designs, surfaces, and heights of supporting structures; designs, materials, and colours of seat and back shells; optional functional additions (tilting, turning, etc); and sizes, shapes, finishes, and colours of tabletops. This wealth of options offers the designer and the unique customer support in ensuring that the selected models meet the requirements of specific purposes. 19

¡ STABILITY ¡ STRENGTH Carefully selected raw materials and thought-through design and construction provide robust and durable furniture meeting exacting demands. The aim is to create, at a reasonable price, furniture to stand the test of time.

¡ THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT One of the sources of inspiration for designer Henrik Lehm is the outstanding ability of the natural environment to craft and colour its creations. To put it simply, the LEHM design is somewhere between classic and cool - in the natural Scandinavian way. Our mission is to manufacture timeless and sustainable products for the quality conscious consumer who demands style and comfort.
