The Finger Endowment Established in 2000 by Jonathan ‘78 & Karen Finger, parents of Robert ‘11, Nathaniel ‘12 and Carson ‘15, to support general endowment needs.

Dr. Gloria Fishman Faculty Continuing Education Endowment Established in 2007 to honor Lower School Principal Dr. Gloria Fishman on her retirement. The fund will perpetuate her commitment to educational excellence through expanding the School’s support of development and enrichment programs for Lower School faculty.

The Fondren Technology Endowment Established in 1996 by The Fondren Foundation in support of technology.

The John Fontaine Endowment for Children’s Theatre Established in 2001 by the family and many friends of John Fontaine ‘02, son of Nancy and Jack Fontaine, who was a vibrant member of the School’s initial Children’s Theatre troupe.

The Friedkin Technology Endowment Established in 1997 by Dan & Debra Friedkin, parents of Danny ‘07, Ryan ‘08, Corbin ‘11 and Savannah ‘13, in support of technology.

The Greg Gephart Endowment for Faculty Continuing Education Established in 2000 in memory of beloved middle school teacher Greg Gephart by Frank & Judy Lee, parents of Grace ‘05, Parker ‘07 and Jay ‘10. This endowment was increased by a gift from Rick & Frances Hopper Jeter ‘74, parents of Emily Catherine ‘04 and Tany ‘07, and by many friends of Greg Gephart.

The Margaret H. Gillingham Fine Arts Fund Established in 2001 by William J. & Margaret H. Gillingham, parents of Susan G. Duke ‘63, and grandparents of Alan ‘96 and Krista Duke ‘99, to provide funding for Kinkaid’s fine arts program.

The William J. Gillingham Debate Fund Established in 2001 by William J. & Margaret H. Gillingham, parents of Susan G. Duke ‘63, and grandparents of Alan ‘96 and Krista Duke ‘99, to support the operation of Kinkaid’s debate program.

The Green Endowment Established in 2001 by Susie and Ira Green parents of Harris ‘13, Thomas ‘14 and Cole ‘16.

The Headmaster’s Endowment Fund Established in 2000 by The Zale Foundation, Amy & Wade Rosenberg and Bobbie & Leo Fields, parents and grandparents of Matthew ‘01, Ethan ‘02 and Betsy Rosenberg ‘05, for the Headmaster to make grants for special needs of the School.

The Herder Scientific Research Fund Established in 2005 by Carol and Charles Herder in honor of their children, Sarah ‘01 and Charles III ‘05, to promote independent scientific research by a Kinkaid student.

The Jacob Hershey Endowment for The Backyard

The Kinkaid Award for Volunteer Service

Created in 2001 from the sale of a painting given to Kinkaid by Jake Hershey, this endowment underwrites programs utilizing Kinkaid’s Backyard Environmental Classroom.

Established in 2001 by Don & Diane Kendall, parents of CJ ‘02, this award is given annually to a student or students who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication to an organization in the Houston community.

The Jennifer Hicks Continuing Education Endowment Established in 1998 from donations made to the school in memory of Jennifer Hicks ‘98 to support an annual continuing education award to a Kinkaid faculty member.

The Hobby Family Technology Endowment Established in 1997 by Hobby Family Foundation in support of Kinkaid’s technology programs.

The Oveta Culp Hobby Endowment for Faculty Continuing Education Established in 1995 to support the continuing education endeavors of the Kinkaid faculty and staff.

Hollo Family Endowment for Character Education Established in 2000 by Reuven Hollo and Tanya Malev Strum, parents of Michaela ‘09 and William ‘13, to support Kinkaid’s extensive program for faculty development and enrichment.

The Tany & Jack Hopper Fund Established in 2001 by The Hopper/James/ Jeter families in memory of their parents, Tany & Jack Hopper, to recognize excellence in the School’s staff.

The Huffman Technology Endowment Established in 1998 by James & Kathleen Huffman in support of technology programs.

The Jamail Endowment for Faculty Continuing Education Established in 1997 by Kinkaid Trustee Lee & Joseph D. Jamail, parents of Dahr ‘71, Randall ‘75 and Rob ‘77, and grandparents of Lili ‘10 and Joe ‘12, to honor former Upper School Principal and English teacher J. Barry Moss. This endowment supports Kinkaid’s extensive faculty continuing education program.

The Ronald Raymond Johnson Photography Endowment Established in 1995 by the family and friends of Ronald Raymond Johnson ‘78 to support the school’s award-winning photography program.

The Kilroy Endowment Established in 1975 by William S. & Jeanie Kilroy, parents of Billy ‘86, to aid ongoing educational programs.

The Kilroy Endowment for Information Technology William S. Kilroy and his family were the major supporters of computer education and computer technology at Kinkaid. In 1996, Mr. & Mrs. Kilroy created the Kilroy Technology Endowment as a matching gift to gain further support of Kinkaid’s technology programs.

The Kinkaid Initiatives in Leadership Endowment Established in 2004 with proceeds from “A Conversation with the Bushes”, a fundraising event featuring the 41st President George Bush and his wife Barbara sharing memories and stories with the Kinkaid community. The fund supports initiatives in leadership including speakers, special assemblies and leadership training.

The Ladin Endowment for the Teaching of English Established in 1981 by Lee & Sidney Ladin, parents of Phillip ‘64 and Ronald ‘67, grandparents of Kris Yellen ‘83, Missy Y. Krantz ‘84, Brian Ladin ‘91, Leisa Ladin ‘95, Leslie L. Strauss ‘94, and Eric Ladin ‘97, and great-grandchildren Ben ‘14 and Sydney Krantz ‘16, Lexie ‘21 and Ladin Strauss ‘24 and Samantha ‘23 and Cameron Dillon ‘26, to underwrite English faculty salaries.

Callie B. Law Award for Writing Established in 2007 by the friends and family of beloved English teacher Callie B. Law, this award is given annually to the student whose achievement in writing is judged by the English Department to reflect the highest levels of excellence.

The Max R. & Mary Frances Lents Endowment for Faculty Continuing Education Established in 1996 in memory of Mary Lents by Life Trustee Max Lents, their daughter Ann Lents ‘67 and her husband J. David Heaney, and by special friends in support of the School’s faculty enrichment program. In 2000 upon the death of Max Lents, the fund became known as the Max R. & Mary Frances Lents Endowment.

The Liedtke Endowment Established in 1970 by Life Trustee J. Hugh & Betty Liedtke, parents of Karen L. Mark ‘66, Kristy Liedtke ‘69, Blake ‘74 and Katie L. Bade ‘80, and grandparents of Virginia Strickland ‘97, Lacey ‘00 and Taylor Liedtke ‘02, to aid ongoing educational programs.

The Liedtke Endowment Established in 1970 by Bill & Bessie Liedtke, parents of William III ‘69, Laura L. Bucholz ‘71, Cadell ‘73 and Claire L. Alexander ‘76, to aid ongoing educational programs.

The Likover Endowment for Visiting Lower School Authors Established in 1994 by Dr. Larry & Bonnie Likover, parents of Clay ‘97 and Collin ‘14, in memory of Kyle Likover. This endowment brings visiting authors to the Lower School for a two-day visit.
