and production company, Taylor Energy Company. Taylor Energy was the only individually owned company to explore for and produce oil and natural gas in federal offshore waters in the Gulf of Mexico. Pat was the Chairman, President and CEO of Taylor Energy Company until his death on November 5, 2004. Taylor was also recognized as the first and only billionaire from Louisiana by Forbes magazine’s 400 Richest Americans List (October 2004 issue). He became a great philanthropist. After his death, his family foundation donated a fully endowed needbased scholarship for a Kinkaid student. Please check out the timeline of Pat’s career here: http://www. tiki-toki.com/timeline/entry/41752/ Legacy-of-Patrick-F.-Taylor/#vars!date=1939-03-23_09:36:31 Keith Chunn ’57: “I was Vice President and General Counsel of Tenneco Realty, Inc. for 30 years. I now have an office in the Galleria Area, where I am actively involved in real estate and oil and gas transactions. I have never worked such long hours or been more excited about work. My wife Sandra and I travel a lot, recently to Jordan, Turkey, Paris, London, Bar Harbor, Maine, Westerly, Rhode Island and New York City, where my daughter lives and attends graduate school.” Karen Lewis McClure ’57 (fs): “I was a happy member of the class of 1957 my freshman and sophomore years and have wonderful memories of the Richmond Avenue Kinkaid. The current campus had not yet materialized. I finished high school at Metairie Park Country Day School in New Orleans and earned a BA at Smith College. Estes Park, Colorado, gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, is my retirement home. Where are the rest of you?!”
1958 Linda Beeley Denison 3467 Ella Lee Lane Houston, Texas 77027 713-621-3258 lindabdenison@comcast.net “What happens at Kinkaid stays and comes back to Kinkaid!!” It will be 57 years this May since we were the first graduating class at the Memorial Campus, and the memories we left there have continued through two more generations. Here are a few reports from our lifetime friends: One of Linda Lester Griffin’s granddaughters is finishing her second year of UT Dental School in Houston, and Linda’s dad, Earl Lester, will turn 101 in July and is still in
great shape! Klinka Garrett Lollar has a daughter teaching at Pooh Corner, and one of Jane Jorns vanSanten’s daughters is the head nurse at Hunter’s Creek Elementary School. Tami Baird Dyer and Lucy Lee Lamme have proof of interconnecting friendships between their children and grandchildren. They have oldest granddaughters who are sorority sisters at UT, and they both have granddaughters graduating from high school this year in Houston. One is going to UT, and one is going to TCU. Tami also has a grandson graduating in Austin who is going to UT. Carol Cockrell Curran lives in Austin and is in Houston currently undergoing rehab for surgery on her shoulder. Sally Eastham Chapoton still lives in Maryland but spends the winters in Florida. Some of us were lucky to have a visit in Houston this year with Margie Griswold Curry who lives in Atlanta. Holcombe Crosswell has a namesake grandson at Ole Miss, and next year he will have a freshman grandson at LSU and a granddaughter at the University of South Carolina. One advantage of living to this age is having time to travel. John Elias reports that they are spending time in their home on Kiawah Island, South Carolina. He said that they took a trip to see Alice Walton’s Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville, Arkansas, and he reports that it is something everyone would enjoy. I have a granddaughter in the same ninth grade class at Kinkaid with Headmaster Andy Martire’s daughter, and we are all thrilled with the positive impact he has made on our school in his first two years. One thing at the top of my bucket list is to visit the World War II Museum in New Orleans. I have heard from many people that it is fabulous and not to be missed. The older I get the more I admire those of “The Greatest Generation” who gave so much for our freedom and who represent the sacrifices and priorities which define the foundation of our country. Although we continue to have joint replacements and surgeries, fight cancer and other health challenges, try hard to keep our minds sharp, and sadly lose friends and family members, we never lose sight of the importance of the friendships from KHS who have joined us in this journey through life. With gratitude for many blessings, Linda

Dianne Asbury Gordan moved to a ranch in New Ulm. She is very active in her church, is in a great book club and is very busy with Heritage Societies. Her granddaughter Margaret is attending TCU, and her granddaughter Georgia is in the National Merit Honor Society. Ann Hornbuckle Robbins lost her husband of 33 years in July. Her youngest son Sean Bass married Laura Burnett in April in the gazebo at Walnut Bend Park. Pinky Blundell Carlton visited Houston in February from New York to be with her mother that will be 103 this April. She said that she is glad she missed a snowy winter, but she did miss her two daughters and five grandchildren. Scott Tillinghast is a man of leisure these days. He still does politics, but not much mathematics or computer programming. Recently he bought a complete recording of Rossini’s opera William Tell (en francais). He also wrote a blog about Bach’s Art of the Fugne. Susan Graham Fifer is still in Kerrville, and she and her husband Richard are gaining a lot more traffic. Boo! As Sonja Klein says, “My chickens are coming home to roost”. Their youngest daughter, her husband and their three daughters are moving to Austin. Susan and Richard’s middle daughter lives there, and the oldest is still in Seattle running AT&T. (Susan says she is smart and would be embarrassed by that description.) Susan’s brother Ernie Graham ’66 is moving from North Dakota to Brenham this year! Susan enjoyes lunches with our class members in Houston from time to time. She has visited Sonja Klein on her ranch where Sonja raises goats, a fresh vegetable garden and lives in Barksdale, Texas, two hours from Kerrville. Betsy Pearson Griffin has a new address as of July 2014: 23 West Oak Dr. #4, Houston, TX 77056. Her first grandson Jack Brydia Griffin (22) graduated from Rhodes College in May with an Urban Studies degree. Her second grandson’s name is Junior Sewanee. After 10 years, Jack Moriniere is retiring from Arcabis, an engineering firm. This will end his weekly commute to Denver, and he

1962 Adrian Turner Ross Houston, Texas adrian@rexross.com Dear Class of 1962, I am delighted to report that Richard Domercq and Patrice Easterly were married on May 30 at Christ Church Cathedral in Houston. They were introduced through a friend of Richard’s daughter, and they both lost their spouses in 2008. Following the wedding Richard and Patrice honeymooned in Italy. Other news related to Christ Church is that Donna K Donelson will be joining a group from the Church on a pilgrimage once again, this time to Ireland. Donna K also mentioned that she would be taking a trip to Santa Fe later in the summer on a “Hatch Chili” pilgrimage. Sandra Moffett Provost reports that they have just purchased a beach house, surprisingly (since her home is in Phoenix) on the North Shore of Boston. She expects to have time to visit with Susan Cooper Gaudet, while working on their new house. Sandra has been involved with a veterans ministry in Phoenix the last few years, leading the healing group and developing a retreat for veterans following the footsteps of St. Francis of Assisi, once a POW himself. Earl Hankamer reports that
