Liz Mims Bender is working at Emery/Weiner part-time as an Admissions Associate. She and her husband Steven celebrated their son Max’s first birthday in May. Sean Bradford (Carroll ’02) currently lives in Berlin, working as part of the cities vibrant music scene. After beginning his career on Broadway, he shifted his focus to music and released his debut EP of electro blues inspired music in May. In addition to his upcoming releases, he is also part of a live act with Berlin DJ duo Bara Bröst. Check out his musical journey at: www. iamseanbradford.com Ariana Nizza Chapman and her husband Dan will move to New York this summer after spending eight great years in Houston. Ariana will begin her MBA at the Stern School of Business at New York University. Perry Gagliardi is moving back to Houston with his wife Meredith Collins ’00 and dog Riley after living in New York since his Kinkaid graduation. Perry spent seven years working for Barclays Capital and one year working for BNP Paribas as a commodity derivative salesman covering HFs & Institutional Investors. Perry started working at NEO Markets in May, a start-up company that is an electronic commodity derivative platform. Linda Gardner has started her own recruiting, resume writing and career coaching business called The Talent Bar. She is also working with a startup mobile application called Gratafy that allows you to send drinks and unique menu items from local bars and restaurants as gifts. Isla McConn Jornayvaz and her husband Joseph live in Houston and are enjoying their two boys, Joseph Jr. and Tommy. Taylor Leachman is both the Campus Director of and a student at Redeemer Seminary in Austin. He and his wife Julianna have lived in Austin for six years, and they plan on settling there upon Taylor’s graduation from Seminary in May of 2015. They have one daughter Emilia who is 2½ years old, and they are expecting their second child in November. Annie Weathers Long and her husband Chris still live in Atlanta. Their son Brooks William Long is almost 6 months old (time sure flies!). Annie has taken on a new role with the National Parkinson Foundation -- New Market Development Specialist. Kimberly Harberg Luskey and her husband Brian are still living in Austin and loving it. This year they celebrated five years of marriage and welcomed their son Abel Robinson Luskey on July 30! Whitney Mears celebrated four years at Mosbacher Energy Company and recently completed the Ironman Texas!Jacquelyne Maddox is still living in Houston and working for Francesca’s. She was recently promoted in February and is now the jewelry buyer for all 500+ stores. She loves the new position and is having a great time traveling for market! Melissa Miller and Bart McGuyer live in New York City, where Melissa is a children’s book editor at HarperCollins and Bart is a postdoctoral scientist cooling and trapping atoms with lasers at Columbia University. They have

coveted NYC outdoor space on their roof deck, which they use to kill plants. Alexandra (Ali) West Montgomery and her husband Pearson Montgomery welcomed their first daughter Madeline West Montgomery into the world on January 11. Since then Ali has started at A Fare Extraordinaire as the Event Team Coordinator.Sarah Mullins is still living in Houston and working for Phillips 66. She is very involved with the Junior League of Houston and Camp For All Young Professional’s Board. She recently got engaged to Mark Kidd, and they are planning a wedding for early next year! Brooke Bagby O’Neil married Billy O’Neil, class of 1999, on May 17. Ethan Rosenberg just graduated with his MBA from Goizueta Business School at Emory University. He’ll be heading up to Minneapolis to work at Target and just got engaged to Antoinette Rodriguez, a classmate of his in business school! Needless to say, it’s been a pretty great year. Richard Sanborn just got engaged at the beginning of May to Erika Valdez! He proposed on the beach at St. Thomas Virgin Islands. Richard continues to work as a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley in the Galleria and plans to be in the Financial Advisory business for many more years to come. Richard is also studying for the CFP certification. Ted Sangalis just began a new job as an attorney for Morgan Stanley, negotiating contracts for the Institutional Equity Division. He is still based in New York City, where he lives with his wife Caitie. In his spare time, he works with his local church ministry and various NYC organizations to serve survivors of sex trafficking and sexual abuse.

The class of 2004 had a great time reminiscing and talking with old friends at El Patio. Ten years after graduation, our fellow classmates are still making Kinkaid proud! David Alviar continues his career as Marketing Manager at Accelerate Learning, Inc., a subsidiary of Rice University that creates K-12 STEM curriculum nationwide.

Because the education sector is ever-changing, both in how and what students are taught, David has experienced an exciting two years since his departure from Teach for America. When not at his desk job, David spends his early mornings coaching Rice University’s rowing team and coaching at Row Studios in central Houston. In December 2015, he will take his rowing experience to an entirely new level by rowing across the Atlantic Ocean in the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge to fundraise and support the construction of a community boathouse on the eastern end of Buffalo Bayou (row4rice.com). Kirby Carlberg works for R/GA Austin and currently has clients that include Royal Caribbean and Fossil. Kirby just completed her second MS150. Tracy Fite Clark and her husband Jeff are expecting their first baby boy, Brady Walker Clark, around June 21. Tracy started an Austin chapter of EdTechWomen, a group focused on connecting, developing and encouraging the next generation of women EdTech leaders. She continues to design innovative learning opportunities for educators and work on educational app development. Her husband is working towards his third year of business as the owner of Buda Health Center. Lauren Goodall Clyce recently married Andy Clyce on May 3. Lauren and Andy will reside in Dallas, Texas. Congratulations on your recent marriage! This past January, Whitney Deason started working as an attorney in the Special Litigation Division of the Texas Attorney General’s Office in Austin. Whitney is engaged to Will Beckworth ’03 and will be getting married this November in Austin. Allison Monteith Evans and her husband Will ’03 still live at her family’s ranch outside of Austin. Allison runs Branch Basics, a company she co-founded that provides the safest and most effective all-purpose cleaning soap. Her dream is for her fellow Falcons to be using it someday! Over the past year, Chuck Helms has been adjusting to his new role as Analyst at Fuller Realty Partners. The Houston commercial real estate market has been booming, so it has been a busy year for Chuck. He loves all his fellow KHS alums moving back to Houston and enjoys having friends who have houses with well-stocked fridges. He promises to repay everyone soon! For the past six years, Whitney Rape Miller has worked at The Vault Mortgage Company as a Vice President. She is active on the Mutton Bustin’ committee for the HLSR. She recently got married this past February to fellow Kinkaidian Trey Miller ’99. Kim Heine Nettles and her husband Charlie Nettles ’05 welcomed their first son, Charles “Mays” Nettles, on March 21. They love being a family of four (their dog Dos included) and just want time to slow down – Mays is growing way too fast! Eleni Pappas still works as a Transportation Engineer here in Houston. She is doing her best to improve Houston’s mobility, one sidewalk at a time. Last September, she spent three weeks in Nepal with her brother Tom and Alex Sanborn ’06. They hiked to Everest base

camp. It was an amazing trip! With every trip, she says her travel bug gets worse, and she blames/thanks Kinkaid’s Interim Term for that. Eryn Shults had a great first year at business school. Having Andrew Watt go through it with her made it all the better. Eryn is looking forward to her internship at Revolution Foods this summer in Oakland, California. If you are in the Bay Area, give her a call! Mary Catherine White loves living in Lexington, Kentucky, working on her aunt and uncle’s thoroughbred horse farm – Mt. Brilliant Farm. She has started to learn to play polo and enjoys coming back to Houston for fellow Kinkaidians’ wedding festivities. Jordan Allison Boyce married Beaumont Boyce on June 7. Congratulations Jordan and Beaumont! She just completed her fourth year as a first and second grade teacher at The Parish School in Houston. Jordan is looking forward to spending the summer moving into their new home and tutoring. She will continue as a teacher this fall at Parish. As for me, Emily Catherine Jeter Riggs, I am completing my third year at United Way of Greater Houston working in development and continue to be active in the Junior League of Houston. I look forward to my role as the Assistant Chairman of the Done in a Day placement. My husband Ben Riggs ’02 and I just celebrated our first anniversary on June 8 and moved into our first house! Thank you to the Class of 2004 for your exciting updates. Jordan and I wish everyone the best of luck for the rest of the year!
