Jennifer Vosko Caughey writes, “I have both wonderful and terrible news to report. In happy news, our sweet little Emily turned 1 on April 26, and she has brought us immeasurable joy. She’s walking and giggling and learning exciting new things every day. I left Baker Botts and joined a great litigation boutique, Smyser, Kaplan & Veselka, where I am of counsel and work part-time. I spend the rest of my time with our Emily, and it’s a great balance of getting tons of time with her while continuing a career that I really enjoy. As for the terrible news, we lost my wonderful dad last August after his heroic two-and-a-half year fight with pancreatic cancer. Losing him has been difficult beyond words. But I am so fortunate to have had the most incredible dad imaginable, to have gotten the time with him that I had, to have the most supportive husband on earth, to live right near my sweet mom (who we see all
the time), and to have precious Emily making all of us laugh and smile.” We are so sorry for your loss, Jennifer. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Max (19 months) is a California kid, and although it makes me sad that he isn’t a true Texan, I’m teaching him all the ways (including an annual rodeo trip home and participation in Go Texan Day). In the past year, I left my job at TNT for Netflix and Netflix for Hulu. I am determined to NOT make any changes for a while. We’re going to New York later this month where I’m excited to have Max meet his new east coast best friend (Stefy’s son, Andreas) and future wife (Sarah Zeller Seelaus’s daughter Alice.)” Barrie, we hope the forced “best friendship” and the arranged marriage work out! ;) Bethany Morehouse Howlett says, “Life in Milwaukee is cold but good. I’m about to start my last year of family medicine residency and have been selected to be Chief Resident next year. My husband is studying veterinary medicine at UW Madison, which comes in handy in caring for our zoo (two dogs, three cats - one of which is Zoe, a 20-year-old long hair who has been with us since Kinkaid MS!).
