Jennifer Murchison Barvitski is still living in Gunnison/Crested Butte, Colorado. Jennifer is a part-time architect and an overtime mom, chasing twins Jane (4) and Will (4). Kathryn Wolf Krischer and husband Jeff welcomed son Bradley Wolf Krischer in February. Kathryn wrote in to say, “With a new house, a very curious toddler and a baby – life is busy, but happy.” Also expanding their family is the Graf family. Kathleen Dunwoody Graf and husband Chris ’94 welcomed Tyler Bering Graf on September 25. Kathleen reports that she has “a house full of boys, which means lots of time spent on the baseball fields and basketball courts.” Hillary Holmes Archer reports that she is staying busy with her two sons, Jack (6) and Luke (20 months). Jack will be starting kindergarten at Kinkaid in the fall so Hillary and her husband are excited to join the Kinkaid community again. Her law practice continues to be extremely busy as well. Hillary is a corporate partner at Baker Botts specializing in energy capital markets, and she has been speaking and writing frequently on MLPs, her specialty practice area. She was recently named the recipient of the Woodrow B. Seals Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year Award by the Houston Bar Association! My daughters, Marguerite and Camille, are turning 9 this summer. I hope the summer finds us sailing at the bay, dining on lobster and ice cream in Maine, and many quiet afternoons of blissful reading. I hope your summer dreams come true too!
Jen Cunningham Desautels is still in Alexandria, Virginia, working at Episcopal High School as the Director of Communications. Outside of work, she stays busy with her family: her husband Greg and her two children, Elliot (7.5) and Charlie (6). She reports that “Life is good!” in Northern Virginia, especially because the Desautels just enjoyed a long weekend with Rohini Sahni and her husband Roman and their two-year-old daughter Mia. Jen is determined to share her Texas roots with her kids, and brings them to Texas as often as possible, visiting the Cunningham’s ranch in Welcome, Texas. Alexis Lipshultz Moses is looking forward to the summer and spending time relaxing at the beach. She can’t believe that her daughter Waverly (5) will be starting kindergarten in the fall. Her son Taft (2) loves following his big sister around and copying everything she does. The Moses family can’t wait for their Thanksgiving Houston trip!Maya Buryakovsky Pomroy, her husband Matt and daughters Madelyn and Emma are moving back to Houston in mid June! Their middle daughter Annabelle is thrilled with the newest addition and is convinced that Blye is her (and only her) baby. The Bowdens’ oldest son Russell will attend pre-K at Kinkaid in the fall. Harris Brodsky continues to work as a cardiac anesthesiologist in Austin, Texas. Kelli Roosth Cooney and her husband James continue to live in Manhattan at their same “boring jobs”. They get a lot of joy from their children, Olivia (almost 6) and Jamie (nearly 3). They welcome Houston visitors and hope members of Kinkaid ’96 reach out when they pass through town! Cameron Cureton and his wife Laura just welcomed their third son, Clayton Baker Cureton, in May. Everybody is doing great and adjusting to life as a party of five. Their oldest son Wyatt will start pre-K at Kinkaid in the fall.

very busy trying to keep up with their kids, Riley (6.5), Jack (4) and Molly (2.5). The Robersons are excited to go on a family vacation to Anna Maria Island, Florida, and enjoy some downtime this summer! Michael Rodriguez and his wife Ashley are expecting baby #2 in August, and recently found out that their daughter Madeleine will be joined by a little brother. In March, they moved into their new house in Fort Worth, but two days later, Michael became the Director for Merrill Lynch in New Mexico. So, the Rodriguez family is in the process of moving from Fort Worth to Albuquerque! They will miss Fort Worth but are excited for the new opportunity!
Ashley Goforth and is really enjoying her new role. Christie Barksdale Ross, her husband and two kiddos are doing great in Houston. She is working part-time at MD Anderson as a physician assistant and spends the rest of her week wrangling the kids. They are looking forward to a relaxing summer spent with family and friends! Stephen Shapiro and his wife Melissa welcomed their second daughter, Scarlett Rose Shapiro, into the world last September. Daughter Maren loves her new role as a big sister. Stephen reports that, “All is well up in NYC.” Brooke Hanson Spanos continues to work as a child and adolescent psychiatrist in Los Angeles in both private practice and at UCLA. Her son Ethan is 2.5 years old, and she and her husband are expecting baby boy Spanos #2 in early August. Mark Thiessen reports that professionally, he won his sixth DWI trial where the blood came in as evidence, which makes him the most winning attorney in Harris County for that type of case. Additionally, he has been appointed by the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (TCDLA) to be the DWI Resource Committee Chair, elected as an associate board member, and is co-chair of an intensive blood test seminar in Austin in July. So far in 2014, Mark has lectured at seven seminars, submitted two articles for publication and won six jury trials. He shares that his favorite trial came by way of a referral from a Kinkaidian who actually had to take the witness stand. The trial was dismissed mid-trial, thankfully not letting down his Kinkaid connections! Mark is branching out of DWIs, so send him any alleged criminals you may know! And Mark reports that the best thing in his life is that he and his wife Kendra welcomed a baby girl, Berkley Rose. She joins her brother Baron who turned two in March.Anne Marie Vollero Thompson and her husband Beau are enjoying life with their two daughters, Sofia (2) and Charlotte (1), in Houston. Ann Marie is working part-time for Texas Children’s Health Plan’s new clinic in Greenspoint. Mary Kristen Plumhoff Valentine and her husband David are living in Houston with
their little girl Mary Morgan, who turns two in October. They are excited about their second little girl arriving this July and are expecting to be very busy with two little ones! Mary Kristen is the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for DePelchin Children’s Center where she recently launched a city-wide campaign, Heal Young Minds, which brings awareness to children and families who struggle with mental health issues such as ADHD, depression and anxiety. Andy Wayne and his wife Lauren are excitedly awaiting the arrival of their second child in late October. Their son Brendan has been trying to predict the baby’s gender. Andy is still working at Baltimore Hebrew Congregation, amassing new marketing and community organizing skills as Director of Communications and Engagement. Katheryne Win got married in November 2013 and she and her husband Jeff DeLucia are expecting a baby girl in the very near future. Congratulations!! Philip Wise is still in Houston with Insgroup. Philip and wife Allison’s daughter Laine is turning 6 in June, and just finished kindergarten at Kinkaid. Their son Burke (2) copies everything his big sister does. Philip reports that sometimes that’s good, sometimes not so good! The Wises are looking forward to summer! Jim Withers reports that it is “business as usual” at the Withers household: sleep, eat and change diapers! Jim and his wife Ashley had a baby girl named Ellie on February 18. She is cute as a button and her big brothers are already terrorizing her. The Withers are still living in Austin, but miss all of their Kinkaid friends in Houston! Whitney Weems Mogavero and her family are still living on the Upper East Side and just hosted a Kinkaid Alumni event at their home! Whitney says that it was amazing to see and meet so many Kinkaidians in the area, and they also had the pleasure of meeting Kinkaid’s new Headmaster at the event. Whitney and her husband have two little girls, Hadley (4) and Reese (2), who keep them busy. Hadley just finished her second year of preschool and was proud to wear a Falcons cheerleading outfit for her last day of school! The Mogaveros are all looking
Beth Allen Rogers is keeping busy in Houston! Her daughter Abby (5) just finished pre-K and will he heading to kindergarten in the fall at Frostwood Elementary (and Mama can’t believe her baby girl is going to big school!). Beth’s son Carter just turned two and keeps her moving! Beth has also started working part time for interior decorator Leeann Rountree Marcie ‘96, Whitney Weems Mogavero ‘96, Alexis Lipshultz Moses ‘96 and Kelli Roosth Cooney ‘96 at the New York Area Alumni Party
