The Robertson Endowment
Established in 1990 by Beth Robertson ’64, mother of Cullen ’93 and Grover Geiselman ’91, to support Kinkaid’s general endowment needs.
The Robinson Technology Endowment
Established in 2000 by Dan & Sharyn Robinson, parents of Elizabeth ’07 and Emily ’13, to support Kinkaid’s technology programs.
The Rosenfield Family Faculty Mentor Research Fund
Established in 2009 by David B. Rosenfield, M.D. and his wife Maria, parents of Dylan ’14 and Lillian ’18, to support a faculty member who will mentor students interested in doing independent scientific research.
The Jennie & Charles Simmons Summer Sabbatical Fund in Honor of John Germann Established in 2007 by Tom and Jan Simmons, parents of Jennie Simmons Roedel ’03 and Charles ’05, to honor Upper School History Teacher John Germann and to provide the opportunity for faculty members with an extended record of distinguished service to Kinkaid to take time in the summer to travel and pursue a special interest.
The Tomlinson Endowment for Enrichment of Teaching
Established in 1980 by former Kinkaid Trustee Prentis Tomlinson, father of Katherine Tomlinson Pennington ’88, to aid faculty development.
The Thorstenberg Technology Endowment
Established in 1997 in memory of Louise & Russell Thorstenberg by Katy Archer Thorstenberg ’69 & Russell Thorstenberg, Jr. ’67, parents of Annette ’00, Catherine ’02 and Russell ’04.
The Underwood Endowment
Established in 1963 by Life Trustee David M. ’54 & Lynda Underwood as a gift to the general endowment fund to underwrite educational programs.
The Underwood Technology Endowment Established in 1998 by Life Trustee David M. ’54 & Lynda Underwood in support of Kinkaid’s technology program.
The Walter Endowment
Established in 1975 by Liz & Joe Walter Jr., parents of J. C. Walter III ’76, and grandparents of Steven ’99, Joe ’00, Liz ’02 and Caroline Looke ’08, to aid ongoing educational programs.
The Weiner Fellowship Program
Established in 1986 by Leon & Sandra Weiner, parents of Rachel Weiner Davis ’75, Andy Weiner ’78 and Renee Weiner Lafair ’85, and grandparents of David Warren ’13, Daniel Warren ’14 and Michael Weiner ’19, to create the Weiner Fellow Program that brings distinguished guests to Kinkaid’s Upper School.
The Wells Endowment for Visiting Speakers
Established in 1971 by former Trustee Damon Wells, Jr. ’54 to bring outstanding speakers to Kinkaid’s Upper School as Damon Wells Fellows.
The West Foundation Endowment for Character Education Established in 2004 by The West Endowment to support Kinkaid’s character education activities.
Ben & Doug Whitman Fund for Faculty Continuing Education
Established in 1997 by the John B. Young Charitable Foundation in honor of Mr. Young’s grandsons, Doug ’86 and Ben Whitman ’92 and grandchildren Allison ’25 and Jonathan Whitman ’28, to support Kinkaid’s extensive program for faculty development and enrichment.
LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIPS
These scholarships are awarded every four years to a ninth or tenth grade student with leadership potential and financial need. These scholarships, which will follow the student through his or her career in Upper School, fund tuition and also provide support for other activities intended to help the student build the habits of a succssful leader.

Established in 1976 by The Rike Family Foundation.
The Katie and A.J. Brass Scholarship
Established in 2008 by Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Brass in honor of their son A.J., daughter-in-law Katie ’90, and granddaughters Hallie ’22 and Joycie ’23.
The Bright Star Scholarship
Established in 1976 by The Bright Star Foundation, Inc.
The Broussard Family Scholarship
Established in 2004, by Mary Charlotte Broussard, mother of Robert ’90 and Charlotte ’93.
The Butler Foundation Scholarship
Established in 1992 by The George & Anne Butler Foundation.
The Class of ’68 Scholarship The Mayfield Leadership Scholarship
Established in 2007 by Jack and Susan Mayfield, and Tad ’81 and Sheila Mayfield, parents of Walt ’11 and Mike ’12.
Mary and Don North Leadership Scholarship
Created in 2013 with proceeds from the 2013 Auction and the Kinkaid community to honor Kinkaid’s fourth headmaster on his retirement.
The C.N. and Maria Papadopoulos Leadership Scholarship
Established in 2008 by The C.N. and Maria Papadopoulos Charitable Foundation in honor of Mrs. Maria Papadopoulos and her late husband Dr. C.N. “Gus” Papadopoulos. The Papadopoulos family includes Helena Johnson ’82, Dean ’83, Tina Papandreou ’88 and William ’92, and grandchildren Anna Maria ’18 and Will Johnson, Mary ’25, Aphrodite ’22 and Christos Papandreou ’18 and Maria ’27 and Constantine Papadopoulos ’30.
The Simmons Leadership Scholarship
Established in 2006 by L.E. and Ginny Simmons, parents of Virginia Simmons Williams ’06 and William Simmons ’07.
The Philip Stephenson Foundation Leadership Scholarship Established in 2008 by Philip ’83 and Charles Stephenson ’85.
ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS
Named for gifts of $25,000 or more to provide financial assistance to deserving students who would otherwise not be able to attend the School.
The Ames Scholarship
Established in 1976 by Curt & Carole Ames, parents of Honey Ames Ashworth ’79 and Doug ’92 and grandparents of Emily Ashworth ’15.
The Barnhart Scholarship
Established in 1973 by Life Trustee Paul Barnhart, Sr., father of Irvin ’61, Velda Barnhart Evans ’63, and Paul Barnhart, Jr. ’70, and grandfather of Kelly ’99 and Paul Barnhart ’02.
The Barr Family Scholarship
Established in 2009 by Mr. and Mrs. John H. Barr Jr. parents of Hanson ’16.
The Biggs Scholarship
Established in 2008 by the Class of 1968 to commemorate its 40th Reunion.
The John & Dorothy Cooper Scholarship
Established in 1980 by Trustee Emeritus J. B. “Bubba” & Shirley Coskey, parents of Jay ’76 and Shari ’79, and grandparents of Julia Coskey Cole ’05 and Andrew ’07. This gift established the Cooper Award, which gives a full year’s tuition to a meritorious senior student.
The C.A. Coskey, Sr. Scholarship
Established in 1980 by Trustee Emeritus J. B. “Bubba” & Shirley Coskey, parents of Jay ’76 and Shari ’79, and grandparents of Julia Coskey Cole ’05 and Andrew ’07, in honor of Mr. Coskey’s father. The scholarship gives a full year’s tuition to a meritorious senior student.
