ENDOWED FUNDS
The Wells Endowment for Visiting Speakers Established in 1971 by former Trustee Damon Wells, Jr. ‘54 to bring outstanding speakers to Kinkaid’s Upper School as Damon Wells Fellows.
The West Foundation Endowment for Character Education Established in 2004 by The West Endowment to support Kinkaid’s character education activities.
Ben & Doug Whitman Fund for Faculty Continuing Education Established in 1997 by the John B. Young Charitable Foundation in honor of Mr. Young’s grandsons, Doug ‘86 and Ben ‘92 and granddaughter Allison ‘25 to support Kinkaid’s extensive program for faculty development and enrichment.
LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIPS
These scholarships are awarded every four years to an incoming ninth or tenth grade student with leadership potential and financial need. These scholarships, which will follow the student through his or her career in Upper School, fund tuition and also provide support for other activities intended to help the student build the habits of a successful leader. The Mayfield Leadership Scholarship Established in 2007 by Jack and Susan Mayfield, and Tad ‘81 and Sheila Mayfield, parents of Walt ‘11 and Mike ‘12.
The C.N. and Maria Papadopoulos Leadership Scholarship Established in 2008 by The C.N. and Maria Papadopoulos Charitable Foundation in honor of Mrs. Maria Papadopoulos and her late husband Dr. C.N. “Gus” Papadopoulos. The Papadopoulos family includes Helena Johnson ‘82, Dean ‘83, Tina Papandreou ‘88 and William ‘92, and grandchildren Anna Maria ‘18 and Will Johnson ‘25, and Mary ‘25, Aphrodite ‘22 and Christos Papandreou ‘18.
The Simmons Leadership Scholarship Established in 2006 by L.E. and Ginny Simmons, parents of Virginia ‘06 and William ‘07.

The John Germann Scholarship
Established in 2008 by the Class of 1968 to commemorate its 40th Reunion.
The John & Dorothy Cooper Scholarship Established in 1980 by Trustee Emeritus J. B. “Bubba” & Shirley Coskey, parents of Jay ‘76 and Shari ‘79, and grandparents of Julia ‘05 and Andrew ‘07. This gift established the Cooper Award which gives a full year’s tuition to a meritorious senior student.
The C.A. Coskey Sr. Scholarship Established in 1980 by Trustee Emeritus J. B. “Bubba” & Shirley Coskey, parents of Jay ‘76 and Shari ‘79, and grandparents of Julia ‘05 and Andrew ‘07, in honor of Mr. Coskey’s father. The scholarship gives a full year’s tuition to a meritorious senior student.

Established in 2001 in memory of John Fontaine, member of the class of 2002, by his grandparents Mr. & Mrs. R. B. Davenport to underwrite a full scholarship for a deserving upper school student.
Established in 2008 by Philip ‘83 and Charles Stephenson ‘85.
Named for gifts of $25,000 or more to provide financial assistance to deserving students who would otherwise not be able to attend the school.

The Daniel Scholarship Established in 2009 by Steve and Pam Daniel, parents of Taylor ‘14 and Morgan ‘16.
Established in 2010 to honor Mr. Germann, Kinkaid’s former History Department chair and teacher, on his retirement after 44 years at Kinkaid.

The Greenwood Scholarship Established in 1977 by Gary Owen Greenwood ‘65.
The Claud B. Hamill Scholarship Established in 1970 by former Kinkaid Trustee Claud & Marie Hamill.
The Virginia Lyon Hedrick Scholarship Established in 1976 by James E. Lyon, father of Dana Lyon ‘73, Melissa L. Johnson ‘74 and Jennifer Lyon ‘77, in memory of his mother.
