Located in the heart of London, the department is defined by the synergy between a shared focus on contemporary Europe and international political economy. This gives us a unique perspective, combining strong expertise of European countries and the EU with approaches focused on understanding economic and political dynamics at a transnational and global level. Students on our programmes benefit from our partnerships with the Global Institutes at King’s which allow us to further expand the geographical coverage of our courses. We currently offer our 30 PhD students first-class research spaces and facilities to explore their own research topic, as well as a vibrant community where they can test and confront their ideas.
