PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE Hi Everyone, Welcome everyone to the New 2017 Indoor Cricket Season. After finishing Premiers in 2016, we are looking for a strong year on and off the field. We welcomed new players to the team in the early rounds and have just won our first game of the year in brilliant fashion that included a new record for a partnership (77 from Lynton and Jadon). We hope that the close and competitive league can be good for all our players and those we can have a stronger year in 2017. As you may know, the Kingsbury Voice has entered a new format for 2017, which will see a Monthly edition. Also, WE NEED SPONSORS!!! On a final note, to celebrate the 2016 Premiership, we have included our Premiership Cartoon poster in this month’s issue. This is a fabulous artwork inspired by the former Herald Sun, artist ‘Weg’ that has been modified to suit the Kingsbury Thunder with thanks to Kingsbury Thunder past player, Joel Martin.

A PLEA FOR SPONSORSHIPS Hi Everyone, We are well aware and we regret that Indoor Cricket this season has gone up $2 each player, each game. This means that instead of costing $10 a game per player, it will now cost $12 dollars a player per game. This is not a Kingsbury Thunder decision. This is an Action Indoor Sports Bundoora decision.
As many of you are aware aswell, our funds are getting low. This means that soon, if we are not able to secure sponsors or fundraisers then parents will have to pay for their child to play for the Thunder. We do not want to do this but we are trying very hard to secure some sponsors for the club. A ‘Sponsors Wanted’ advertisement will feature a few times in this magazine. If you do know anyone that could help please let Jadon Atkinson know.
A few Kingsbury Thunder Fundraising Events have been put on the table to raise money for the club. These include Raffles, a Guest How Many Lollies in the Jar, and a Fundraising Telethon to raise money for the club. If anyone has any ideas for Fundraising Ideas for the Thunder please let Jadon Atkinson know.
