Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Intensive

Patient Care Technician Intensive (PCT)

A Certified Nurse Aide assists Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) with direct patient care. This demanding, yet exciting program will prepare you for an entry-level position in a nursing home or hospital facility. (135 clock hrs—96 hrs classroom, 32 hrs Supervised Clinical Experience, 7 hrs CPR) Tuition support for this program is available through The Audacia Foundation, Inc. – a Workforce Investment Organization (WIO) funded by NYSDOH MLTC training grant. Interested individuals should call (718) 368-5359 from Monday – Thursday (4-8 PM) to apply. Application and acceptance is subject to approval.

This course teaches students technical skills necessary to work alongside doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals providing care to patients in hospitals, doctors’ offices and nursing homes. Students are trained to perform basic bedside care, collect laboratory specimens, draw blood and perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) geared for inpatient settings. (135 clock hours)
