Hong Kong / China These trips to China were taken in the context of work - site visits for architectural projects based there exploring to better understand the place and the people that make it. Hong Kong was my base - a fantastic mad city that provided no end to discovery. Within the outsized scale of the towering buildings - all densely packed together between the peak and the bay - people take on an antlike nature, scurrying in and out of building, up and down in lifts. And yet jump on a ferry, ten minutes around the bay and you’ll arrive to a lush tropical beach where the rush of the city is just out of view.
