Collage takes discarded images from old magazines, weather-worn posters and forgotten books, and reignites them. It fizzes them, pops them with energy, making the collaged images relevant again but invested with the imprint of past lives.
This collection of works is a celebration of twelve of Colin Brown’s latest paintings, created after forty years as dedicated collage-artist – travelling for inspiration and material, snipping, pasting, composing and painting. These works embody collage in its truest form – looking in all directions; past and present, here and far, far away. They reach out, touch and pop.
