The Malton Rolls Out Red Carpet THE MALTON was the location last Friday for June’s edition of the Sean Moncrieff show on Newstalk 106FM. Sean Moncrieff hosted his popular Movies and Booze slot from 2pm until 4pm beneath the gilt-domed ceiling of The Garden Room restaurant. With a live audience in attendance,
guests enjoyed a day of live music, bike action from the Killarney Bike Fest and some familiar local personalities. Throughout the broadcast, Moncrieff was joined by wine expert Jean Smullen and broadcaster and film critic Sarina Bellissimo and the afternoon was finished off with a wine tasting event in the hotel.

Walkers Get Into Their Stride To Remember Eileen FRIENDS and family of the late Eileen Cronin, Cronin’s Yard, gathered for the first Memorial Walk to honour Eileen’s wonderful life and hospitality given to climbers, members of the Kerry Mountain Rescue Team, Gardaí Siochána, and great friends, before and after their ascent of The MacGillycuddy’s Reeks. June 8 was Eileen’s birthday so it was fitting tribute that so many people turned out on what was a very challenging and wet day on Cnoc na Péiste. John and Esther Cronin, Cronin’s Yard Tea Rooms supplied the “tay and brack” and welcome after the climb, as Eileen had done for so many years. Eileen’s son John Cronin led the walk and Mike Ward laid a bouquet of flowers at the grotto on the summit of Cruach Mór.
